Great kitchen tool and nice colors

I’ve been a chef and manager for many years and am often critical of equipment. NOT SO with the 3-pack I bought from these guys. Key is MADE IN THE USA! Well done folks and worth every penny.

I don't often write reviews, however with consistent use, almost daily I figured worth the while for this purchase. I have been looking for just this sort of thing. Hardwood indeed! These were purchased for use in my enameled and non-enameled cast iron pots and pans. I dislike the use of nylon and metal utensils in my cast iron for various reasons. The set came in the mail beautifully wrapped with a care & use card, as well as information regarding the wood that was used for each utensil set. The Earlywood website calls these heirloom quality and I'd thus far agree. Beautiful solid wood utensil set! With proper care these should outlast less superior wooden utensils on the market. I think the price is fair for what you get. The long skinny one is great for stirring all sorts of items (even in deep pots). The edge is thin and makes a great wooden scraper too. I also took Earlywood's suggestion (in their video) of using it as a bench scraper on the counters. It's quite thin, but seems very strong. The smallest spreader size has been a delight to use with our jam, butter, lard etc. as a scoop / spread tool. It also has a great feel in the hand. Hands down our favorite is the middle size spatula flipper. I've used it to cook eggs, hash browns and flip pancakes in the cast iron. It's my new favorite tool in the kitchen! Finally I love that these are made in the USA. Plus, the color from the wood in each piece is natural vs a stain. Each one continues to clean up beautifully (with proper care). I read a lot of reviews on other brands of wooden spatulas that sustained cracks, discoloration and disappointment in performance. While browsing I came upon Earlywood. I visited the company website for information and opted to purchase on Amazon. Thus far, I'm quite pleased with the products and have given 5 stars.

I saw these on Alton Browns Quarantine Kitchen. Alton explained how much he loved their versatility. I needed a birthday gift for my son who is a chef.... And my son LOVED them!

I believed these would feel more natural while cooking. The first thing I did was brush them off with the little scouring pad that came with them. I washed them in warm, soapy water and let them dry about four hours then I got busy oiling them. The color deepened beautifully. Then I put all my plastic/silicone utensils in a bag and relegated them to the basement on their way to Salvation Army or whoever takes stuff now. Yesterday morning I had scrambled egg/cheese omelet, bacon, an English muffin with butter and grape jelly. The thin wood spurtle took the place of a fork to scramble the eggs and stir them around in the skillet. The butter spreader is great because with one swipe it spreads over a larger area than a knife.We have been using new age utensils for our entire lifetime and these are so much more natural. You can stir and then rest the utensil across the pot/skillet without worrying that it will burn your hand when you reach for it again. You also don't have to look for it on the counter or the sink. Both ends of the spurtles are usable depending on the recipe you're making. The scraper is the utensil that will get the least usage for now.

These three wood utensils are the best purchase I've done in a year. The scraper is great to clean my cast iron skillet and it also serves as a spatula when I'm flipping steaks. The flipper is great for sauteing veggies and stirring food when it's cooking. Finally, the spreader is perfect for putting butter over bread or toast. The fact that these are made in the USA and the quality of the craftsmanship is a great deal for the value. I'm planning to buy some of these for Christmas presents or as a wedding gift.

I bought the 3-piece set, after I bought and received a single cast iron scraper/flipper. The workmanship of these is perfect, and they are gorgeous.The feel is terrific, and I can see myself using these a LOT, provided they hold up. The woods are very hard, and, especially on the scraper/flipper and spatula, the business ends are planed/honed very thin; they need to be to function as designed. I gave these 5-stars for sturdiness, but the truth will out over time, so we'll see how those fine edges hold up after months/years of use against cast iron/carbon steel surfaces and cooked-on fond, wet/dry cycles, etc.My only wish is that the spatula end wasn't curved but straight; however I can see how the curved end would lend more strength than a straight edge.I would love to see these tools with rounded handles like their serving spoon and ladle; they'd be easier on the hand and would allow for a stronger grip when using them for scraping.ZERO regrets here. Will be buying more from these folks.

I bought this set about a month ago and I’m very impressed with its versatility. The scrapper was my initial interest for my cast iron pans but I find myself using the flipper for many jobs while I’m cooking like flipping foods while frying etc. which I didn’t realize it would work so well. The spreader’s usefulness is incredible. I cook a lot and I looked at the speaker and fell in love and I don’t even put it away, it stays on my butter dish, always. I don’t have to go pull a case knife out, use it and wash it each time I use my butter or ghee, a little luxury I’m allowing myself to indulge in. I went to Earlywooddesigns.com yesterday and ordered the set of mini boards and spreaders (The Entertainer) for a Christmas gift for our daughters and granddaughter. I’ll separate the 4 boards and spreaders into individual packages and now they will also understand my special pleasure and I’m sure they will love them too. I also ordered a few other items from their selection as well.

Love the mid size one, hope to get much joy & use out of these well hand crafted spatula's.
