The main advantage of springs as well as some extra durability is that by removing 50% of the foam and replacing it with a sprung unit you take a lot of the insulation and potential heat out of the mattress and it will help to avoid your baby overheating The NightyNite® Toppers are made of microfibre, using microfibres gives much higher volume for the same weight: a distinct advantage over polyester, microfibres have a much higher number of air chambers and tiny pores, allowing the skin to breathe and the body to regulate temperature more easily. A microfibre topper will hold more air and has a much more snugly feel to it than the standard polyester covers that are widely used to reduce costs. The NightyNite® microfibre topper is antistatic and helps prevents the build up of static electricity. The NightyNite® microfibre toppers is easily removed for machine washing just unzip the soiled one and zip on the clean one. A godsend when you have to have a soiled mattress at 3am!
