I was 13 when this came out, and when My step brother showed it to me I was instantly hooked. First of all, Megalomaniac is a BRILLIANT song; its really powerful and an excellent opening for the album. Not saying it needed the best opening, as every one of the 14 songs presents it's own individual sound and feeling, and are possibly equally as good. I distincly remeber putting 'Talk Shows on Mute' on repeat for hours, its throughly hynotising, similarly 'Here In My Room' has a certain sedcutive quality. I won't go through ever other song, as they all really are great in different ways- it is positive to say that none of the songs sound the same, resulting in an album that has a song to suit any mood. Overall, This album is actually one of my favourites ever, it carries it's own sound, which every Incubus album has, which I think is one of the greatest things about them. It's not so rap-metal as 'Make Yourself', or mellow as 'Make Yourself' and certainly not as experimental as 'S.C.I.E.N.C.E', instead I'd say it's a mature reflection of their many genres, and carries a certain mellowness, alongside growing political awareness(explicit in songs Meglomaniac, Talk Shows on mute....etc) which is seen slightly in S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Ok. I'm not sure if I've made much sense... But I'd recommend this album infinatly, if you're a fan of incubus or not, it's a great listen, and what an album really should be... there is honestly not a song on this album that is'nt rated 5 stars!

Had not even heard of Incubus until recently and was so impressed by what I heard - I wanted more! This is the first Incubus album I bought and Ive got to say - they are even better than I thought they'd be! 'Meglomaniac' (an absolute belter) and 'Talk Shows on Mute' are absolute classics! 'Leech' and 'Sick Sad Little World' are also amongst my favourites with there catchy choruses! There isnt a single bad track on the album, although a few of them dont instantly hit you. Keep playing this album and it gets better and better! Great riffs, great lyrics that want to make you sing along. 'Southern Girl' and 'In my Room' are more mellower tracks and also very good. In an era where there are very few decent front men- Brandon Boyds vocals are a breath of fresh air! I am also a fan of Pearl Jam and the energy and passion of Incubus remind me alot of the early Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder stuff which exploded at the start of the 90s. All in All - this is a top top album, more consistent and polished than their earlier material. I do not award 5 Stars easily but this album is up there with my best evers! Get yourself a copy!!

If it's first class talent you want, look no further than Incubus. They hit all the right notes all the time, every time. Such a tight band, they sound as good live as they do on their albums - not one bum note or missed beat in sight. this band is so talented

Although people acuse the band of straying too far from thier usual style in this album, the ingenious intricate composition and feel of each track tallies up to form an experimental development from morning veiw and make yourself. I've had a load of guys who've said its nothing special, but when i've told them to try listen to it more, people always become enlightened lol... Tracks like sick sad little world, beware criminal, agraphobia, here in my room and leech mark the highlights in my personal oppinion. All together this album is something special when you listen to it with an open mind.

Si has seguit tota la trajectòria d'aquests monstres de la música i creativitat, no et pots perdre aquest àlbum imprescindible pels amants d'Incubus. Recomano veure'ls en directe. Llarga vida a Incubus! (porten ja més de 25 anys junts)

I avidly listened to this album years ago. I suddenly rediscovered Incubus and this album, so I decided to buy it. When it came in, I immediately dropped everything and listened to it. It's a great album. Most people don't like it for some reason, but I greatly enjoy the lyrical and instrumental quality of this album. If you're a fan of Incubus, this is a must-buy.
