Cozy Mystery
Another delightful Molly the Maid mystery! I love how she uses her meticulous attention to detail to unravel yet another case. This book was such a fun and easy read—I flew through it in just two days! Molly's quirks and unique perspective make her such a charming character to follow, and the narrator did a fantastic job capturing her voice. It felt like stepping back into the cozy yet mysterious world of the Regency Grand Hotel, where no clue goes unnoticed, and no speck of dust is left behind.

love Molly the maid
Even though this book is not quite as compelling as her first one , it is still a very good read. I enjoy her storytelling and Loke the mystery angle

A good read.
Molly Gray is back with her head maid's badge to rise, polish and shine and she was doing her duty perfectly with her maid in training, Lily until J. D. Grimthorpe, the king of mystery novels does in the tearoom when he was about to reveal a secret.People at Regency Grand Hotel are under suspicion along with a group of fans calling themselves LAMBS who are studying the writer from so many years.Detective Stark is back to investigate this new case. But Molly is nervous because she knows who the writer was.I loved all the characters eso of Molly, the maid. This one tells us more about her story.Narration of the story is good which keeps you hooked.Overall, it's a good read.

This sequel seemed unnecessary.
Not as interesting as the 1st part, ‘The Maid’. Lack of character depth, seemed unrealistic when Molly knew the victim Grimthorpe, seemed convenient, lacked author’s creativity, way too much conversations in each page & unnecessary monologues. A cozy mystery, no thrills, repetitive. Finished in one day. Received in good paperback condition from Amazon.

Better as a character-oriented drama than as a murder mystery. Read in series order.
I had read the first book of this series, ‘The Maid’, and was blown away by this wonderful character named Molly. The second book continues her character arc well. But will this book work well for you? I’d say it's all about having the right expectations, about knowing what you want from this story. I didn't want a murder mystery when I picked this novel up. I just wanted to meet Molly again and know her more intimately. In this sense, this book is an easy winner. As I knew what I wanted from the book, it delivered on almost all those factors. Other than the repetition and the final twist, I had no major problem with the novel. The “mystery” isn’t as twisty as in the first book, but is still engrossing. The events of the two books are in a linear timeline, and Molly’s personality is established clearly in the first novel. Thus, better to read the books in order so that you know Molly and her nature well. The ending hints that there might be a change in venue for the next book. I do love the hotel setting, but if Molly’s story “checks out” of the Regency Grand, I look forward to the new location and book.Definitely recommended, not necessarily as a murder mystery but as a character-oriented drama with cosy-mystery elements.4.25 stars.Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book at my request and these are my honest thoughts about it, written voluntarily. Average at best.
Firstly, I ordered 1 of this book and got 2 (Launch offer). With this bizarre start, everything about this book had me rolling my eyes.Molly's character evolution in 2 years since the first book was so unimaginative, minimal and poorly written. Sure, the characters around her aren't working as hard to clue her in, but that's because everyone in this plot is equally clueless.Overall, the hoity-toity English and switching between past and present (a good device when used well) is a poor addition to an average plot. The murderer's motive isn't explained fully and is rushed. The plot of this novel has a lot of promise. However, like its predecessor, it seems the publishing house is not budging from the page limit they've set for Nita Prose- forcing her to rush her endings, barely develop her characters and sprinkle a story with predictable twists- if one can call them that.
