Crain 197 Comfort Knee Pads

I wanted knee pads for simple occasions when kneeling on the house floor to do some cleaning, maintenance or repair work. These do work. But the design is bulky and is probably more suited for someone in an occupation where this kind of design makes more sense.

I use these when stocking groceries. I'm not a big guy, but my knees aren't the best and that tile and concrete floor is challenging without pads.Most importantly, these knee pads do aN OUTSTANDING job protecting my knees. Sometimes it is necessary or more practical for me to walk down the aisles on the hard floor on my knees. With these pads on I can actually walk long distances on my knees without paid. Sometimes that is a better choice than standing up, moving over, squatting, and repeating that over and over. Again, NO PAIN in my knees when using these pads. For that I am grateful.Two things I wish were different:(1) The straps are easy to adjust with Velcro, but they bunch up the fabric in my blue jeans as I work, which causes a lot of discomfort and sweating. I would like the company to find a solution to that. What MIGHT help would be offering a few sizes. These are one size fits all because of the Velcro, but the excess fabric on the closure is part of what causes them to bunch up and be sweaty. Alternatively, a belt rather than Velcro may work better. Maybe there's even a way to ventilate the straps. Something has to be done for this.(2) They collect a lot of nasty. As I work on the floor, the fabric collects lots of stuff. At the end of my shift there is a lot of debris stuck to the knee pads. That is understandable, but perhaps something could be added to the outer later than is less prone to collecting floor stuff. As they are, there is not a good way to wash them. The instructions say they can be machine washed and drip-dried. Honestly I haven't tried that because I wear them every day and am not sure they would drip dry in time for my next shift. I have at least found that I can remove much of the debris with an old-school style lint brush, but that isn't perfect.Fixing the uncomfortable strap issue would convert it to 4 stars.Additionally fixing the cleaning issue would convert my review to 5 stars.

As a professional flooring installation specialist, I must use have protection for my knees and these Crain knee pads are the best I have found by far!!!

I used a variety of kneepads over the years from cheap to expensive. These are easily my favorite. They are well padded and for kneepads, comfortable and they actually stay in place. Hike your pant leg up a bit and these work like garters to keep the pants from getting tight when on your knees. My legs do sweat where the pads wrap around my legs, but a small price for the rest of the benefits of these. They are a bit pricey, but they have held up well and i would buy again. My wife and I used them for installing flooring and molding in a 6000 sq foot office building over a concrete floor and they worked great.

My son picked these as he's a carpet fitter and has used them before. Not a bad price and seem well constructed. My son likes the adjustable strapping.

Bought as a present. Have had them before and they do the job they were made for.

Fantastic knee pads...comfy on..actually purchased for someone who has knee problems who is on his knees a lot..however when he wears these it certainly helps his knees from further pain..well made..though a bit expensive but worth it
