Q: I’m confused, which is harder the red or the purple?

The red is more difficult than purple. Their website covers it pretty well but orange is easiest. Black is hardest.

Q: Does the blue band come in the set or not? One reviewer stated that they had to order it directly from SS instead of amazon

Yes, the Blue #3 bands comes in the set. Through the listing you can purchase the bands individually or you can purchase a set that includes one of each: Orange, Purple, Red, Blue, Green & Black.

Q: What's a band guard for a board system? does ss offer one? what's a "sharp edge" versus a non-sharp edge? (i.e. how do i know if/when i need a guard?)

Thank you for the question. A Band Guard is a protective sleeve that goes around the band and helps protect it from abrasive surfaces or edges. Some band training systems include boards or footplates to stand on. Some of these do not have round edges and the squared off edges can cut into the band. This will typically not ruin a band, but will accelerate the aging process. Using something like a Band Guard or a towel can help protect and maximize the life if a band.

Q: Can you do front raises if your 5 9 with this and i guess i need a 42 inch ones to tricep extensions?

I think you are tall enough for the regular length. I have the shorter length but I am 5’5”.
