Small and quiet
The media could not be loaded. I have been looking for a robot vac for my Mom, something small and convenient for her downsized space. So when this unit from Switchbot was announced, I immediately put it on my wishlist. The most striking thing about the K10+ right outta the box is that it's small. We have a Roomba as well, and the K10 is diminutive next to it. Even with the charging stand, the footprint for this unit is very manageable. As with all things Switchbot, the design is understated, modern minimal. I appreciate the aesthetics - and the fact that it can hide in many spots means that even if you don't, it won't stick out like a sore thumb in your space.Build quality also seems good, like usual. Out bot actually fell down our stairs during the mapping function (learn from us, put a physical barrier up first) but seems fine still. After mapping, you can designate no-go zones really easily in the app to prevent accidents. The integration with the app is pretty slick. Not only does it constantly update me on progress ("I'm gonna get back to work") but it also gives access to the map and other information. I'm constantly surprised at how well Switchbot does to keep integrating different machines into the app. I'm excited to play around with developing some scenes. Mood lighting for cleaning?? HahaAs for the cleaning, so far so good. It's very quiet. Much quieter than our other vac, letting it melt into the background while it's running. The small size allows it to maneuver well, hitting corners others can't. Cleaning happens in straight lines, in an orderly fashion, different to my other, less intelligent botvac. Suction isn't the most powerful but works well for a daily touch up cleaner for sure. Capacity and battery life are minor concerns, especially for a bigger space, but it empties and recharges quickly. There is some level of babysitting that needs to happen - floors need to be clear, it will get stuck sometimes, it might not align with the base. But all of those issues are true of all robot vacs I have used; these are less faults of the K10+ than issues with the entire category. Robot vacs are great for regular maintenance but I don't think I could ever see replacing a powerful upright for a periodic deep clean ever. JMHO.If you're in the market for a robot vac, with advanced features like mapping and auto-empty, the K10+ is a really intriguing choice. I do wish the industry would figure out a reusable bag for auto-empty units, I'll be first in line for that! But, I'm really happy with the K10+. A Switchbot fanboy, and still one after getting this. In fact, I sort of don't want to give it up to my Mom! Haha

6 Month Review - House has never been cleaner!
The media could not be loaded. -Short version: This vacuum really is the best value if you need just a vacuum without a mop, as the small size makes it clean corners and small spaces better than anything on the market! I'd look at the S10+ if you have a place that's mostly hardwood since that one has a self cleaning roller mop though, or the K10 Pro if you're place has more pets or is dustier given the better suction and larger bin. The mop on this thing is literally just a wet wipe, so buyers beware if the mop is a need. However, after setting up the no-go zones and schedule, I haven't had to vacuum or replace the dustbag since I've bought this thing! Just keep on top of the filter, as that needs cleaned more often than what the app recommends👍👍-I was pretty hesitant about this robovac after reading a review of a customer going through three of these; all with having the same problem. I couldn't find anything else like this on the market though, so seeing as the review was from the beginning of the year, I figured it's possible this was resolved, as the mixed early reviews were worrisome. I saw their S10+ vacuum/roller mop combo, but wanted to try the more affordable one first before dropping that kind of cash on a vaccum from a brand I don't know, and I'm glad I did:This vacuum was a life changer, no joke.To be fair, this is the first robot vaccum I've had, but this robovac is emblematic of the rapid improvement these have had in the last decade since auto empty has become a thing, battery life increases, LIDAR navigation; the small form factor is also absolutely amazing given the smaller apartment I had to move to, so it gets to places other vacuums simply can't.The app does a fantastic job of letting you set up no-go zones, schedules, and it empties itself on a timer which can be adjusted to your preference (just do every 60 minutes lol). This thing has been going strong for the half year it's been here!Don't know why the app has terrible reviews, as I haven't really had too many problems with it, if any, but I think the reviews are related to other switchbot products based on what I read. The only problem I've had with the app is a weird glitch I'll call "Space Creep" where the color divisions of the rooms and different spaces creep in a direction after using the map for some time. This can be counter acted by reloading the map from your favorites, so it's nothing majorly bad or anything of note in my experience. That said, there really aren't too many cons to this robovac, but here are some changes I'd wanna see:- Custom dust collection settings: I feel like even with every 60 minutes, the most frequent setting, it isn't enough for super dusty/pet occupied places when first starting to vacuum given the small bin size, so having a slider that let's you set custom intervals, maybe down to 10 minutes, would be a massive improvement. The new version has a bigger dust bin apparently, so this may no longer be needed on the pro version, but would like to see it on this one.- Custom accessory usage settings: A switchbot standout feature, but each mechanical part or sensor on the K10+ has a service life on the app that tracks how often it should be replaced or cleaned. That said, the interval for the dust intake filter should be MUCH lower, as this guy sucks up a lot of dust even after vacuuming a place for awhile. This should be cleaned a lot more than every 150 service hours, so I wash/ replace the dustbin filter whenever I wipe the sensors, and immediately ordered replacements. I highly recommend checking your filter after 30 use hours to keep on top of excessive dust ingress.- Auto-adjusted suction can't be turned off: despite having my power level be set to standard whenever this robot cleans, because it starts on laminate each time, the power level keeps changing to its "strong" level when moving to carpet, and there's no option to turn off the auto adjust. I'd like a way to just have the robot adhere to the parameters given in the schedule. This is annoying if I want to vacuum at later hours and I have to set the power back to a quieter setting each time it goes over a different surface.- Replaceable battery: while the degradation hasn't become noticeable yet, having the battery be easily replaceable like on older roombas is something I'd pay a good deal for just to know that I can keep this running like new for as long as possible. As it stands, the battery is only replaceable through switchbot apparently, and no videos exist on the process when it inevitably needs replaced.And... that's it!Overall I can't see myself ever really getting rid of this vacuum even if I get a new one, especially given there really isn't any other vacuum out there with this form factor, so here's hoping with maintenance this guy will last a long time! It's really good to see a company that's trying to innovate the robovac market, as it seems both of their current vacuums have a lot to offer!

Okay vacuum, terrible support
The vacuum: it's a good, quiet vacuum when it works correctly. However it frequently gets "lost" despite having its position clearly marked on a map, or "stuck" under furniture, when it doesn't have a line of sight back to its base. When I set no go zones it will still drive right into them and get "stuck" again. It's frustrating but not terrible.Product support: I opened a support case with SwitchBot a month ago because my vacuum stopped working due to a broken wheel. I reached out to support right away and I've been exchanging about one email a week with them and every email is its own frustration. They said they would replace it (whether the vacuum or wheel, I don't know) about two weeks ago and asked for my address but I haven't heard anything since. I won't be buying anything else from SwitchBot after this.Update: a month later and still no resolution. I mailed my vacuum to SwitchBot for repairs and was informed that the replacement parts are out of stock. I was contacted by SwitchBot via Amazon and they offered me a full refund; I expressed my interest in a refund and I have not heard anything about it since. Downgrading from 2 stars to 1.
