Mighty good scale for the money. Seems very accruate, too
The scale arrived when stated, well packaged and in good condition. No issues there. Scale has a max weight of 50 grams which is fine for my usage. Accuracy is reportedly +/- 0.003g.Caveate: I haven’t used the scale other that for testing it. So I’m hopeful the scale will function as well in actual usage.Usage: My intended usage is to weight coins. So I’m not interested in the tweezers or weighing cup or the ‘Pieces’ function. My observations, then, are in the light of numismatics. The unit powers up in grams mode which is exactly what I need anyway. The scale hood is supposed to help when in windy environments. I found it a little hard to grasp the edge to lift it up as there is no tab to grab. With the hood out of the way, the scale surface is exposed. Scale surface area is just under 2”.This unit seems really sensitive. So it’s best to place it on a level surface to avoid mis-readings. I’ve read other reviews (perhaps of other products) stating they get inconsistent results with the same item being weighed. This may be due to not placing the item in EXACTLY the same position on the scale. Hard to do at best.To start, discard the cheap “Made in China” batteries provided which may be prone to leaking and causing serious corrosion damage. With better batteries installed, turn the scale on. Give it a second to stabilize then press/hold the mode button until CAL is displayed. Place the provided 50g calibration weight in the MIDDLE of the scale. The scale should read 50.000 and after a few seconds indicate PASS. The unit is now ready for use.The TARE button allows you to zero out the scale with some object (EX: the provided measuring cup) on the scale. Now the scale will read correctly for the item being weighed minus the cup weight.Pros:1. It’s portable, light weight and comes with a soft, zippered carrying case.2. It takes 2 AAA batteries, not button batteries that you may not have on hand when needed.3. Backlit LCD screen is easy read (mostly).4. Auto powers off after several minutes of non-usage.5. Calibration is quick and simple.Cons:1. Mode selection display at the top of the LCD is hard to read.2. Cheap batteries provided.3. Scale hood a little hard to grasp.

Cheap and Accurate Balance for Handloading Ammo - but you have to understand its limits.
For accurate weighing you need to understand balances. Load-cell electronic balances are most accurate in the center of their range and least accurate on the ends. This is a 50 gram balance, so that is equal to 772 grains range. The best electronic scientific balances ($5000+) with expensive load cells still give good accuracy at their minimum and maximum balance capacity. However if a weighing is critical it is still best done by difference in the middle of the range. This means not depending on the tare function - and starting with weight on the balance pan that will put it into an accurate place in the load cell range. You record the initial weight, add what you are weighing, and then subtract the difference. So in my evaluation of this really inexpensive balance that is what I did.A 45 case + primer weighs about 93 grains, so this around 8% of the 772 grain balance capacity, well into where the load cell should be accurate. I tared the Fusion balance with nothing on the pan. Then I set the empty case in the center of the pan and recorded the weight (calculating my target of + 6.2g powder). Working fast enough to defeat the 180 second balance auto turn-off, I removed the case and added around 6.0 grain of powder to the case before placing the case back in the center of the balance pan. I then positioned a Frankford Arsenal Powder trickler above the case mouth and trickled powder to my exact target weight. All weights are shown in the table. Also, before I started, I had placed the ten primed cases in a tray and tared a scientific balance (only 0.01g balance) so I could compare to weights after adding powder with the Fusion balance. As you can see, the total of amounts added to 10 cases using the Fusion balance agrees exactly with the scientific balance. so good! Now the one bad thing. I found that if you tare a pan on the Fusion balance and trickle powder slowly into it, you will never register a weight. Apparently the tare function re-tares the balance if it thinks the zero is slowly drifting. I added up to 6 grains of powder this way and the display never registered anything but zeroes. When I took the pan off, dumped it, and placed it back on the balance - then it read negative 6 grains. However, once the balance is displaying what it has determined to be a weight, then no problem. If you try to add slowly after using the tare function - then all bets are off.I'm keeping mine and consider it to be quite accurate when used properly for handloading ammunition.

Works perfectly
This scale works just as described. The calibration weight is a great addition. Getting down to the fraction of a gram is super helpful as well. Thanks!

Excellent inexpensive scale
I use the scale for weighing smokeless powder. Excellent, inexpensive scale that is good down to .02 grains. Much more sensitive than the run of the mill scale up to 5 times the cost. The scale can wander on zero at times as all digitals do though not often. All in all a great deal for the cost.
