Welcome Back!
VERY QUIET! I'm getting a very smooth shave with whisper quietness. The shaver's smooth as it glides over my face. It removes all the stubble without having to re-shave and re-shave the areas. Quick, Quiet, Efficient.Years ago, I bought one of these razors but gave up on it because it didn't seem to cut my beard as well. Well, you have to replace the rotary blades! The price of replacement blades is very fair. Plan on replacing your blades at least once or twice a years.I'm replacing my Remington Foil Razor. I bought new blades for it - it works acceptably well but is NOISY. It sounds like a trashing machine! My previous Remington razor died - I bought this new one. Disappointing. . . Poor quality manufacturing, poor part tolerances cause this to be twice as loud as my previous Remington. Very disappointing. . .Buy the Phillips Norelco instead and thank yourself every time you use it.

A Fantastic Shaver for the Price!
It's quiet, gets a close shave, cordless, and has good battery life! However, I don't recommend using it anywhere else other than the face, I've tried and it wasn't very effective, but that wasn't what it was designed for so I won't knock it for that. Using this shaver is so convenient and efficient that I can add this to my routine to shave every other day and easily keep a clean-shaven appearance! Even better that it's much quieter than other trimmers and shavers I've used by far! It's quiet enough to use it at night without disturbing anyone. And seeing as this is Philips' 'entry-level' model, I don't see why one would get one of the more expensive models.

Excellent shave that almost rivals a blade, but not crazy about the charging
***UPDATE 9/14/25***I’ve now used this for a couple months and I continue to be very impressed. Initially I was a little surprised at how long it took to fully charge but then found out why — it lasted upwards of 30 shaves(!!!) before the orange light indicated it needed to be charged. That’s impressive that you can shave for a month without recharging! Despite my slight — and I do mean slight — misgivings I mentioned earlier about charging I’m otherwise very happy and would highly recommend this razor.=============================================================================The motor in this runs at a much higher speed than my prior Norelco razor that bit the bullet, and it literally takes half the time for me to shave and it’s much closer as well — it almost (but not quite) rivals shaving with a blade, which I think is pretty impressive and again far superior to my old razor. One thing I’m not crazy about is it comes with a USB charging cord so a wall adapter is needed — I’d much rather just have a regular wall plug. Also, you can’t use the razor when it’s plugged in probably because it can be used wet or in the shower (who even does that??? 🙄) and they had to protect against stupid people electrocuting themselves. It does take a while to fully charge and flashes orange when it’s getting low so that’ll help not running out of charge mid shave and should be ok, but due to these charging limitations I subtracted a star. I’ve only used it three times but it’s still going strong so I’ll see how long it lasts and update. But from a pure shaving standpoint I’m very happy with the performance and would highly recommend it from that perspective.

Sorry I didn't buy this razor sooner
I started using Philips/Norelco electric razors back in the day. I had a triple header plug in model that finally died, and now I have an old plug in double header. I was reluctant to order this one because I just didn't think an internal rechargeable battery could do the job. Well, I have used this razor for about one month, and I am now a believer. It is much quieter than the plug in model and vibrates less. It can shave a two day beard growth with no problem. It is marvelously easy to clean, and that is the greatest single improvement over my old plug ins. Amazingly, I can get about two weeks of daily shaves before recharging. Now each person's beard will be different, and different people will get different results. I do dry shaving with electric preshare when I use this razor. Once a week I shave wet with shaving cream and a safety razor to catch any long hairs that my electric may have missed. This Philips/Norelco X3001 can give me a shave that is equally close as that gotten with my safety razor. I am very satisfied with this purchase, which was also an excellent value.

Gives a very good shave
This electric razor really works well. For such a low price it is great. It is quiet, charges fast, and lasts a long time between charges. It shaves almost as good as the most popular four blade razors. No need for water and shaving cream unless you want them.

Not the Smoothest Shave Ever
When comparing this 2400 Series Phillips Norelco razor to my Venus Colors 3 blade disposable razor, here's what I think.Smoothness: 2/5 The closest shave I could get felt like 12 hours of growth as a person with relatively slow growing facial hair and who shaves every 48 hours. I had to go back and shave my face shiny smooth with my Venus. The Phillips razor has no concept of being able to shave against the grain to get the shiny smoothness that I like.Blood: 3/5 There was about one third less blood when I shaved with the Phillips razor than my Venus razor. My face just happens to surface bleed very easily whenever I shave with anything because of my acne and scabs.Total time: 5/5 It took about 8 minutes to complete a shave with the Phillips, but I did need to go back over sections about three times. It usually takes me about 12 minutes to shave with my Venus.Price: 4/5 The Phillips is a good deal at $40 if you want to save money and don't want to have to keep buying disposable Venus razors for $1.50 each forever.Overall, I would only ever use the Phillips Norelco razor if I had really bad acne and wanted to reduce blood letting or if I was in a great hurry in the morning and just needed something in terms of a shave. I think its strong suit is getting rid of stubble length body hair, ironically.
