Nice rod, terrible reel.
The rod is what you would expect from an ugly stick, but the reel was broken out of the box with the spool refusing to engage at all. Fortunately, I had a spare reel lying around. It is a great purchase if you intend on scrapping it for parts.

Excellent
This little rod is perfect for my son. His last one with was the spider-man version of this fell into the lake never to be seen again. So I bought this one the rod itself is very strong and very good for a 7 year old. I was having trouble with the reel like others in the comments and then one comment said to turn the black wheel by the handle and it would tighten it up so you can reel in the line. I did this and it made it so I could reel in the line perfectly. I might change out the reel a little later because I love a little bit different style but if this one works, Ill keep it on there. These rods are very strong and I, being the father also use the avengers version of this rod. I've caught many fish with these style of rods and have never had any trouble with them. Change out the reel if you must, but I really love the rod regardless. I hope they keep making them.

Broken reel
The reel arrived broken. Will not cast. Tried using the troubleshooting set up but still doesn't work. Can the seller please contact me? This was a gift and opened past the return deadline.

Pole is great...but...
Had to replace the reel after it fell apart. I read the reviews and was aware it was a risk. I was also dissapointed that the car wasnt attached when it arrived. I expected more from ugly stick.

Nice little rod
!!!FOR THOSE OF YOU SAYING BAD REEL!!! Arrived in good condition, no complaints. For those of you saying the reel doesn’t work, you don’t know how to work the reel. The black gear looking thing next to the reel handle is used to set the drag, or how much force it takes to pull out the line. Tighten the gear up, the better the reel works. Loosen it, and you get all the haters in the reviews🤣
