Pacific Image Paximat Slide Tray for PS5000

If you're buying this as a loading magazine (for a slide scanner, for example), be CAREFUL. It turns out there are two sizes OF EVEN THE STANDARD PAXIMAT SLIDE TRAY. One side is for slides "up to 2.0 mm thick" and another for slides "from 2.0 to 3.2 mm thick." This distinction seems off the radar on a lot of US equipment sites. The thing is ... most of the slides you're working with will be about 1 mm. (see the picture above). If you use the wider-slide magazine with narrower slides, the projector or scanner will constant misfeed, and you'll get "slices" or "splinters" like in the second picture. IT STANDS TO REASON THAT MOST OF THE BACK STOCK ON THESE MAGAZINES WOULD BE THE WIDER ONES ... 'cuz, really, who has 3-mm thick slides? (Maybe the Lumiere Brothers ....) So make sure you're ordering a magazine designed for the width of your slides (i.e., probably the narrower, normal ones ...)

The slide tray works exactly as needed with the PS5000 scanner. No complaints on operation, appearance, construction, or almost any other aspect. The "Stars" choice is only for what I wish it had...Four stars... but deserves Five Stars, if it had come with a lid, to hold the slides in place while carrying (which many others do, and for the price I would have expected it). I've already dumped a whole tray of slides on the floor. I now rubber band a piece of cardboard on top when transporting the tray to where the Computer Club has the PS5000 scanner.

The trays I ordered work as expected and the delivery time was very reasonable.

Overpriced but functions as advertised.

I was scanning 100's of slides and bought an extra tray so I could be loading one while scanning the other. It was identical to the original tray, and I was well pleased with my purchase.
