Quite good of a mystery-thriller!
Good read, but could've been better had the book not ended on "..to be continued". The story felt kind of short but content with the plot. The mystery elements in the book are quite predictable, hence would have loved it if the finale wasn't reserved for a sequel. I would also like to mention that I haven't read the book 1 "The girl in the glass case" at the time of reading this review, but the book bears very little continuation from the first book and is a completely different case from what I could infer. So, the book can be picked up a standalone.SPOILER-FREE BRIEF SUMMARY:Terminally ill patients have been committing suicides and the case is assigned to APS Simone Singh to investigate. The cases, initially marked as open and shut have peculiar similarities between them. Simone on the other hand is dead set on proving them as murders. The books follows her story on how she catches the culprits while dealing with her own depressed-self.

Amazing work!! A must read for all the suspense lovers out there!
Devashish Sardana's literary prowess shines once again in his latest offering, proving that lightning can indeed strike twice. The second book, much like its predecessor, navigates the delicate balance between originality and quality with finesse. Sardana's ability to delve into the intricacies of domestic abuse and societal issues remains a hallmark of his storytelling, presented with an unfazed and unflinching approach that demands reflection. One of the standout features of this literary work is the author's commitment to maintaining the thematic essence established in the first book. The narrative seamlessly weaves through the complexities of societal challenges, addressing them with a poignant and insightful lens. Sardana's storytelling is not only a captivating journey but also a thought-provoking exploration of the human condition. The suspense crafted within the pages of the book is nothing short of thrilling. As a reader, I found myself eagerly turning each page, consumed by the desire to unravel the layers of mystery skillfully embedded by Sardana. The author's ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats, yearning for the next revelation, is a testament to his storytelling prowess. What sets Sardana's work apart is his dedication to authenticity. The portrayal of domestic abuse and societal issues is not sensationalized but rather presented with a sincerity that allows readers to connect with the characters and the narrative on a profound level. This authenticity adds a layer of depth to the storytelling, making it not just a work of fiction but a mirror reflecting the realities of our world. In assigning a rating of 8/10 to this literary creation, it is a recognition of the commendable effort put forth by Devashish Sardana. The book stands as a testament to his ability to craft narratives that are both engaging and socially relevant. As a reader, I find myself eagerly anticipating Sardana's next literary endeavor, confident that it will be another chapter in the author's successful journey through the realm of storytelling. Good work, Devashish; the literary world awaits your next masterpiece.

Good
Honestly speaking I read it after being crazy about The girl in the glass case . But this book doesn’t actually reach up to that one . The author has a great way of unfolding the story but maybe it didn’t quite catch up with my expectations

Loved it
Loved the book, I completed it in a night. It will keep you hooked. But it talks about depression and suicide. I wouldn’t suggest it to someone who is suffering from depression and suicide. Read at your own will

Worst. Don't pick it up.
This was the first book that I chose and didn't like. Maybe I trusted the author based on his previous book and made a biased decision to buy this book. The ending. The story. It was not good at all. Would recommend chris carter books. They are serial killer thriller but very twisty. And i couldn't guess the killer once in 12 books. And they always gave a satisfaction. Which this book didn't. This book proved to me why i dont read fiction from Indian authors unless they are based on true stories.
