I have been taking Liposomal Ubiquinol CoQ10 800 mg softgels for over 6 months. My cardiologist recommended this specific product. Previously I was using a different brand that was only 400 mg. My doctor wanted me to bump it up to 800. This product is much cheaper than others that only have 400 mg. I did not read the ingredients that well before purchasing and was a little concerned when I saw it had phosphatidylcholine from sunflower oil. The strength of this is higher than another brand I was using and it claims it is better absorbed. The vegan gelcap is made from a thick smooth easy to swallow with water. I have only taken this two times because I was taking another brand and wanted to finish that first. I compared the two and noticed there is not a good comparison because of the form. I had no noticible side effects. I did not notice any smell to it. The size was a little bit large compared with other pills but the smoothness of it seemed to be alright if you have a glass of water to chug it down with. There was no noticable taste. I just have reservations about the use of phosphatidylcholine from sunflower. I would imagine that hexane might be used to exttract that and there are concerns about potential for build up in the liver with the phosphatidylcholine from sunflower. I am taking this for health but was researching with mixed results the phosphatidylcholine. It might be associated with TMAO. Anyhow, my doctor told me to take Coq 10 for my muscle cramps and I found that sometimes supplelments are needed to optimize health. I would give it 5 stars if this was organic and said it did not use hexane for extraction of oils etc. It seems to be a moderate product and priced competitively. It states the Coq 10 in this form is more easily absorbed. That is why I purchased it. Yet now I am wondering if that is necessary. I mean whole foods are harder to absorb and they have more benefits than highly processed foods. My reasoning was is absorbtion really necessary? Can you have too much of a good thing? From a theraputic standpoint with my Doctor's recomendation I am taking this.
