I've only been using this device for a few hours. I rated this at three stars due to the one thing that I've observed that I am not real happy about. Using this to attach a USB3 Hard Disk to the 2017 MacBook Pro, the device housing is literally hot enough to burn you. If I had to guess, I would say that it's upwards of 140 degrees F while in use. At this operating temperature, I don't expect it to last very long.Fast forward a week and the device has cooked itself. It would get so hot each day, that I disconnected it at night for fear of starting a fire. In any event, the HDMI stopped working, and then the Ethernet stopped working, and then...So my return has been submitted, and this thing is going back. Such a shame. It had everything I needed, seemed pretty solid, and the design wasn't terrible (the cord could have been a little longer).

Great looking item, but as soon as I plugged it into my MacBook Pro, the wireless internet disconnected. When I unplugged the hub, the internet returned. I tried this multiple times with the same result. I can't use this if I can't keep the internet connected. I wrapped aluminum foil around the hub and the internet stayed up, but if I opened the aluminum foil to plug something in to it, the internet would disconnect. I could plug something into the hub, then wrap it in aluminum foil and then plug it into my Mac and the internet would stay up, but then I found the hub was getting very, very hot. None of this was acceptable to me, so I am returning the hub. Too bad. It looks really good.

I used it for about 3 months and everything was fine although I was concerned about the heat. The heat finally got to it. All of the ports are still functioning function correctly as hubs so the monitor, SD, and USB ports are fine. The ability to put power through the unit via the type c port to the laptop stopped working. Fortunately my Yoga 920 has two type C ports so I plug power directly to 1 of them and this product in the other to use the adapters. Still has value as a hub but you can buy the same for less. On a plus side the heat issue is gone.

I'll only give two stars because this thing sort of works. But it immediately creates a ghost screen connection with the computer (that's right, without any monitors, TVs or projectors connected to the machine). That makes the computer glitchy and it's not even the worse of it. Whenever you connect it to the computer, its temperature just gets out of control. I really think it's a major problem, specially when it comes to energy efficiency/consumption. It's really borderline hand binding, which is disturbing for something supposedly high tech... I didn't get to use it as soon as I bought it, and I'm stuck with it now.. Otherwise, I'd return it to get my money back in a heartbeat!

I plugged it into the usb c port and it immediately started to heat up. I plugged in one item and it was hot but working. I plugged in the second device it got warmer but was still working. I plugged in a third accessory and the hub was so hot that I disconnected it as soon as I noted that the accessories had stopped working.It has been some time since I soldiered up a printed circuit board but heat is generated by resistance. Too much resistance explains the 10 port hub's inability to run 3 ports. Additional resistance is caused by poor design or sloppy assembly.I won't say 'don't buy", this could be the exception. I would return it, but I no longer have packaging.

I'm a teacher. The tech guy at my school recommended I get this so I can use the projectors in the classroom. He bought this too. What he didn't tell me is he had it for a couple weeks before recommending it. Well, within the first week it started getting hot while using it and then just stopped working. After it cooled down, some hours later, it worked again...for a while. A few months passed with light use and now it just doesn't work at all. Like completely dead. I troubleshot everything. This device is the problem. I told the tech guy and he described the same problem and his died too. Pure trash. Don't waste you money.

Unusable product. I try to plug it in. It never click. It stays lose and falls off from time to time. The material looks good, but the design is faulty. See video to see what I’m saying.Update.....Once it’s forced it in and out a few times.... it learns to work properly...... since it works as intended now I’ll give it a 3 but that initial hassle of which almost made me throw it away prevents it from being 5 stars.

This works as expected but gets extremely hot. It is very hot to the touch. I actually ordered a different USB C hub and will use this one when I am traveling only. I worry about it overheating and causing issues with my peripherals or computer.

This seems like a classy, good looking, well-made piece of kit. All the functions I have tried so far work well and it’s a good one-stop-shop for legacy connections.It can get a bit warm in use and you wonder about wasting battery life on your laptop.An improvement would be to have a storable connection wire that didn’t stick out in transport.

Am using with HP Spectre and works great. I do get a message about using original HP power adapters when plugging my HP adaptor through this, but it still charges so I'm ok with it. Does get hot as others have said, but works fine and has been for a couple of months.

Get's warm, but not too hot. Works perfectly and hot-swaps well.Using it as a docking station and fab so far. Monitor, ethernet, power, USBs etc all working fine.My only grip is the lack of screws for the VGA - that would have been good.

Ignore the comment someone has made about the adapter getting too hot. It does get warm, but not excessively and I have saved hundreds £££ compared to buying individual component adapters from Apple. The best dongle I have ever bought.

Le produit est très bien fini et les connectiques sont de bonne qualité MAIS le produit chauffe à tel point qu'avec simplement une souris USB Bluetooth connectée, je l'ai débranché après une heure d'utilisation car je n'arrivais quasiment plus à poser la main dessus tellement il était chaud.Je n'ai même pas essayé de brancher un disque externe dessus. Il est trop tard pour l'échanger malheureusement.Les capacités de dissipation thermiques ne sont pas du tout à la hauteur du besoin de toute évidence. Je me demande même s'il répond aux normes en la matière. Dommage.

Un ottimo prodotto fà il suo lavoro su tutte le porte anche se sul mio HP x2 che ha un uscita video anche esterna di tipo Micro HDMI la parte Video HDMI e VGA non viene neanche vista, non ho capito se è per questo motivo o se dovrei fare qualche cosa per farla funzionare. Nei vari feedback pare che il PC dovrebbe vedere la scheda Video in automatico senza alcun driver esterno, ma nel mio caso non viene rilevata neanche. A parte questo tutto il resto fà il suo lavoro, anche la ricarica passante dal connettore USB-C funziona correttamente.

When it first arrived, the unit worked as expected. I was able to connect to a VGA projector in a board room and the HDMI monitor at my desk. However, like many other reviewers have mentioned, this unit runs hot. Ultimately, I think this is what caused my adaptor to fail last week. It is now completely fried after only 6 weeks of daily use. Maybe it was designed to do spot duty--pull it out of a laptop bag and use it for a presentation--but for the price, I expected it to simply work all day long, every day. I would not recommend this unit.

L'ho acquistato per il rapporto ingressi/prezzo. Ha d'avvero un sacco di possibilità differenti (sd, micro sd, hdmi, vga, usb 3.0), e in effetti con questo accessorio annulli il problema dei nuovi mac che hanno solo USB C. Ho riscontrato però problemi con il surriscaldamento. Praticamente quando è troppo caldo inizia a scollegare un pò tutto. Questo succede facilmente se magari d'estate lo usi in maniera intensiva spostando tanti file da usb, se poi hai anche collegato l'hdmi è la fine.Lavorando spesso con proiettori e presentazioni, sono stato costretto ad acquistare l'adattatore originale apple, che costa molto di più, ha molte meno porte, ma fino ad ora mi ha evitato brutte figure davanti al pubblico.

After few weeks using my feedback only gets worse.It works well when the power cable is connected to it. However, gets a lot of heat that impacts on the product efficiency.Without the power cable connected to it has some issues with multiple devices. I had issues about losing power in my iPhone X when I had HDMI, mouse and iPhone X connected to the device (all with original apple cables). Also after a week using all day, last Friday the HDMI port seems like to had a problem. I thought was my monitor had died but today it's working fine. Seems like the heat problem is more serious than I thought. It blinks so hard and so frequent that makes impossible to work with.Also it gets hot, significantly. For few hours it will work very good. For long time it may have issues with heat affecting the ports.I don't recommend buy this product to use it daily. It only works for short periods of time. Useless for day work.

Da non comprare.Ho acquistato questo accessorio perché le porte video VGA e HDMI del connettore multiplo che avevo non funzionava più.Quando è arrivato l'ho provato e funzionava. Ma ha funzionato solo per pochi giorni poi ha, definitivamente, smesso.Per ora ho risolto con un accessorio Usbc-vga che avevo già ma devo portare con me gli altri connettori/adattatori.

The idea of this device is fantastic, but unfortunately this item would appear to have some flaws. Firstly, it gets very hot after only an hour of being connected. So hot in fact, that I feel a hot pad should be placed under it for safety. Secondly, after plugging in an external monitor along with my new MacBook through the device, it would then not allow a wireless mouse to charge at the same time. Finally, after about 12 days, the VGA input failed, and now I can no longer connect my VGA monitor to my computer through this device.

totalmente soddisfatto dalla qualità e dalla funzionalità del prodotto. Il Servizio e la spedizione Amazon si sono rivelate come sempre precise e puntuali. Questa volta ho sperimentato la resa presso un punto di raccolta e tutto è andato per il meglio.
