Women Vintage 1950s Dress Retro Cocktail Party Swing Dresses with Cap Sleeves

This dress was perfect for the Burns supper. Beautiful colors. Not a lot of stretch to it but enough to feel good. Fit as expected. The skirt flares out in a pretty way. Fabric was light weight but not cheap. And the best part of it all… IT HAS POCKETS!!!! Now to get the other colors.

The fabric feels very nice (surprised by that!). I'm 5'2", between a 14 & 16, triple D on top, and the XL fit to perfection. The cap sleeves even fit well on my bingo-wings! It looked very nice on me with or without a crinoline. The pockets stick out weird though...not sure if it's a flaw in the dress I received, how it laid on me or simply a design placement issue. I may try another pattern and see how it fits.

This is a really cute dress. I got it to wear to my company's fall social event, and got many compliments on it. It fits true to size, and is overall comfortable. The fabric is not quite as nice as I would expect from something that's mostly cotton. What's worse, in my opion, is that the chest area has a polyester lining (so the I dont think the dress isn't really 95% cotton, as advertised). The fabric itself is reasonably solid and not at all see through, so I'd have rathered they leave off the polyester. The pockets are great, and easily replace a small purse. I fit a full size phone and wallet in one, and keys, swipe card reading glesses, and sunglasses in the other. The skirt is a nice midi length. The cap sleaves are cap sleeves. They are a bit restrictive, but really not too bad for normal daily movement. I got it on sale for $20, and it is a good value at that price. At its norma $40, whether it's a good value depends on how picky you are about fabric, and how you feel about a dress that really is only for October...

I bought this for a sock hop that I hosted for the retirement community I work at. I wasn’t sure what size to get so I ordered a large and extra large just in case. Pros- The large was a perfect fit, so it is true to size. Proportions were perfect. It had just enough stretch to be perfectly comfortable all day, but did not stretch out or get misshapen. It looked good even before I put my petticoat on. This dress stirred up so many happy memories for my residents! All of the ladies were telling me about their dresses that they used to wear, the parties they went to, the dancing and romancing! Cons- it was a little warm. I was followed all day by inappropriate old men. Wrinkles a bit, but not excessively. I can’t wear it every day and I really wish I could.

Love the cut of this dress and the fit is snug without feeling suffocating. I do need someone to help zip it as the zipper is very small but that gives the back of the dress a very seamless and taylored look. The cut of the neckline is gorgeous and very flattering. Love that it has pockets. Will absolutely be buying more in different colors.

It's much better if you order the puffy crinolin slip to go with it. It is A BEAUTIFUL dress. I wore it for Valentine's Day. I washed it on the gentle cycle and then steamed the wrinkles out. Very bright, pretty shade of red. The fabric has a little bit of stretch. It has a long zipper in the back. It exceeded my expectations.

It is beautiful, but does not wash well. Mine came out of the dryer full of lint.

My favorite Amazon purchase. I got so many compliments when I wore this dress to work. The material is light weight but not thin. The construction is good and so flattering. I typically wear size 8/10 but ordered a large. It isn’t tight but it isn’t too big either. There aren’t strings to hold the tie in place but that’s not a deal breaker for me. I’ll order this in other colors!!
