Quality You Can See (and My Dog Can Taste)
The Simple Food Project Bison Recipe (freeze-dried) has been a total win for us. The ingredients are clean, simple, and high-quality, which is exactly what I want for my dog. Rainey absolutely loves it — she gets excited every time it’s meal time, and she’s usually pretty picky. I also love that it’s gently freeze-dried, so it’s easy to serve and I know the nutrients are preserved. Her digestion has been great, her coat looks fantastic, and she does really well on it overall. It’s comforting to know I’m feeding her something that’s both nutritious and made with real, whole foods. Highly recommend this recipe for anyone looking for a premium, trustworthy dog food — especially if you want simple ingredients without sacrificing quality.

Great alternative if you can’t feed raw
Excellent food! I’m a raw dog feeder but I have a dog who had a splenectomy who can no longer eat raw. This is very convenient food and contains excellent ingredients. No filler carbs like kibble and freeze dried is minimally processed.

Dogs love! Great for skin allergies and coat health!
Both of my dogs absolutely love it! We rehydrate it with warm water, and they cannot stand to wait for their dinner. The best part is my lab mix no longer has any skin allergies. Increasingly, I am thinking that synthetic vitamins and food additives played a bigger role in the bad skin than the “protein“ as we were told for many years. Or maybe it was malnutrition and they just needed more liver in their life?

A little disappointing
The food is made from quality ingredients and my dog REALLY likes it and tolerates it well BUT it’s expensive AND 1/2 the bag of food arrives in pulverized condition. I have a big dog, he gets 2 cups/day and so a bag barely lasts a week. And the pulverized nuggets may make a thick gravy but it doesn’t offer any substance.

Healing through Nutrition!
We pet-parents with picky fur babies, will go to the ends of the Earth to find something they love, and that’s healthy. Four years ago smack in the middle of Covid, my three year old Teri-doodle mix was whining & having trouble getting up. It was obvious his hips were bothering him. The vet came out with a handful of medication that I would need to start him on, saying he had hip dysplasia and we needed to avoid arthritis, etc., etc. and that really began my journey to find healing through food. I can’t even remember how many dog foods I’ve tried but I’m telling you there was a lot including home made and those that are advertised as ‘fresh’. Duke would eat it for a little while, soon turned his nose up at it. And then we tried SFP. Full disclosure I make my own bone broth and add a little at each meal to moisten the food. He seems to love all of the varieties and he’s now 7 almost 8! Most people who meet him at the dog park are shocked to hear he’s that old cuz he still runs, jumps & gets into mischief, like a puppy… And no meds! Super glad they’re selling it on Amazon so more people can try it. In the four years, we’ve been buying SFP I’ve only seen them increase the price once. But I do like the idea of eliminating the box that another reviewer suggested. Either way it is worth the investment, your pup is worth it!

Quality food for your puppers!
My French bulldog loves this dog food! I was looking to switch from a traditional kibble style food to something more quality and this is a great find! I'm so pleased with the quality and appearance. It doesn't have an overwhelming odor, it smells light and fresh. My dog had a bit of looser stool for a few weeks while transitioning to this food, but now she's healthy, energetic, and no more diarrhea. The size of the kibbles is just right for her needs. She literally sits on the rug and whimpers while I prepare her dinner now. I always add a bit of water on the kibbles to get it rehydrated. She does well eating this food and licks the bowl clean. I love that it's raw food but it's so versatile and can be easily brought on vacation without a big mess or need for refrigeratation! For reference, my dog is 26 lbs, 9 years old french bulldog and she eats one bag per week approximately. Happy dog, happy owner!

Dogs ♥️♥️♥️ it
My dogs love this stuff. My boy is a grazer and kinda picky, but he will usually eat this, if I give it to them by itself, without walking away. I mix it with home made food and the part that has become powdery mixes well with eat. My girl eats almost everything, but she scarfs this down like it was her last meal and then if I don't watch her, will try to eat FrankieG's

Quality ingredients but ....
I purchase this for my dog for the quality of the ingredients but find it quite expensive considering how much fine chopped product is in the bottom of the bag. It's wasteful and a disservice to the customer. Also to be honest, my dog is not a full fledged fan as he really only likes the dark brown 'cubes' in the bag and not so much the lighter tan colored cubes. He will not eat it if I add the warm water, he prefers it dry, so I have to make sure he drinks adequately. I don't know how it is processed, perhaps the dark is organ meat and the lighter other meat ??? But it's a struggle to get him to eat all of it. I bypass wasting the bag bottom particles by adding it to the mixes I make as treat balls for my pup, it's too expensive to just throw away. I know it sounds like I am leaving a poor review but I am not ... the ingredients are great quality and in defense of Simple Project my dog is fussy about ALL food. I will continue to buy this brand because of it's quality ingredients. Your pup may love it ! One true negative is that the smell is awful but I assume it's because it's real minimally processed bison (= freshness ? perhaps) ... gotta be smelly right?! LOL Try a sample pack first to see which choice your dog likes best !!!
