I recommend this piece to anyone that has frankincense that they wish to burn over charcoal it is easy to clean it is magnificent in its construction is durable it's not flimsy, and it has an incredible beautiful Middle Eastern style to it. I strongly recommend this piece for those that like to burn incense for whatever reason. Great great product

An improvement was bending the edge of the tray as shown in my photos. I used a folded paper towel to pad the edge and bent inward with pliers. That gave an area to grab with the tongs plus a place to store the tongs.I break my charcoal disk into 2 or 3 pieces since I'm using powdered resin and that seems to be better for me.However, I like using an adjustable height candle burner better - the scent of the resin smoke is not overpowered with charcoal smoke.(Also, I didn't like the smell using cooking oil with the powder with the candle burner).A tea candle will not work to burn the resin in this beautiful burner because there is not enough ventilation.I do love this burner and alternate between it and the candle burner.

I use this to burn copal resin. It gets the job done. I am loving it.

Some people have covered the bottom with aluminum. I don't think the burning of aluminum is a good idea. So I have not done this and I do have black all inside and my hands to become black if I play with it. I got a nice big bag off of Etsy of frankincense and myrrh.....my mixture. One thing I will say is that you need the charcoal to keep it burning and the resin kind of melts so you would have big flames. I put the lid on and the flames go right out. And smoke comes up through the holes.I also am having a hard time getting it to smoke for a long period of time. Again I have to get it to a full burning flame and put the top on to instantly take the flame out. Then I get smoke through the holes but it does not seem to last longer than a few minutes. That could be the choice of incense that I had gotten. I have not tried the round discs that people talk about this is an actual bag of frankincense and myrrh. I have chunks of color in bag that remind me of light amber color and then dark chunks that I think is the charcoal. I am unsure but the scent is beautiful when I open up the bag. And I can smell it through the house and I do do it daily a few times. Good luck trying to find some good frankincense and myrrh. I do like the bag I have but it does not burn long. Some I have read say they will burn for 40 minutes. But those are actual incense sticks. And not raw. Mine only Burns for about 4 minutes or less. Could be because I'm letting it get to a roaring fire first. LOLI'm sure it is a technique that people who have used this religiously know about. I am just learning. But frankincense and myrrh is what's the magic did bring to Jesus. It was considered quite valuable and I wanted to get the official material.

Picked this up to burn my frankincense resin. It’s very sturdy and pretty compact, a little smaller than I expected but easily holds a charcoal disk with plenty of room to spare. The tongs help with placing the charcoal and the resin easily.The removable trap can be a little annoying to remove sometimes. I end up keeping a screw driver close so I can lift it up easily.If you’re burning resin with this I’d suggest trying to use a piece of aluminum foil on top of the coal to reduce the smoke. Certain resin pieces burn dirty and I find this helps.

This may look small, dainty or cheap but it isn’t! It’s the highest quality I’ve bought on Amazon. It’s sturdy, lovely small weight to it, BEAUTIFUL design and a lovely brass like finish and gloss. It’s not a net like other resin burners so it’ll never tarnish and burn through after moderate use. It’s big enough to place larger coals in though nothing huge. It handles are amazing as well; making it completely mobile and safe to carry. Would recommend and buy again! The tongs are amazing as well but could be a bit wider. Otherwise perfect gift and set.

I love the look of this little burner, but it has some serious design flaws. The top part of the burner does not screw level onto the bottom, and the screw does not maintain a tight fit. It has served its purpose adequately for the last year, but it is so cock-eyed now, that it is time to replace it with something else. It's a shame - it's a beautiful burner, but the fact that it does not maintain a straight orientation is a deal breaker for me.

It looks attractive on my table. I use a charcoal disc then add incense once it is hot enough. The incense aroma fills the house. Very pleased with it.
