it should be super easy to power these off small solar panels or ...
both the sensors and the receiver/alarm have micro-usb jacks on them, which is not noted in the product description at all.. and they work very well powered using the micro-usb jacks. I haven't measured the power draw of the sensors, but considering they're designed for AAA size, it can't be very much. but, with the presence of the micro-usb connector, it should be super easy to power these off small solar panels or external battery packs.the devices are extremely lightweight, the plastic cases flimsy and of questionable quality. the cases are definitely NOT waterproof as advertised, though it's possible that the electronics may have a molecular/hydrophobic coating (but I doubt it). The receiver tone is nice and loud, so you can hear any of the obnoxious sounds with clarity from quite a distance.i tested a unit in bright daylight and it performed quite well. as expected, with sunlight shining directly on the sensor window there's some false readings, so if you plan on using this outdoors remember to position it in a way where it's shielded from sunlight. I haven't bothered testing it at night or in complete darkness - pretty much a given it'll work well.with some basic DIY work, one could make these completely waterproof, weatherproof and directional (to eliminate false triggers from critters for example), but as they are, right out of the box they're functional and useful.my only question at this point is what the power draw of the sensors is - to determine the lifespan of a set of batteries or the feasibility of solar power. once I figure that out, I'll update this review.

Great product and priced reasonably!!
I am very pleased how this has such a far distance range. I can adjust the volume for the ring as well as the type of ring. I have this mounted on a fence as u drive in my driveway. It's doing an excellent job picking up motion, even bird's that fly by it. I am very pleased and highly recommend it. Priced very reasonably with very good quality.

Detects even slight movements.
Works as described. There are some nice options in terms of different sounds, as well as the lights to be notified of the motion detected. Extreamly easy to setup. The detectors are pretty sensitive so they may not be good for a driveway with trees and things the wind may move. They work fantastic for the house or garage. The sensor itself does give off a small red flashing light when motion is detected, so if you want it to be hidden, this may give off the location, especially in the dark. I would recommend this for indoor use, as long as the light when motion is detected doesn't bother you.

Very helpful
I bought this for another use, but last night I used it to catch a mouse that had been evading my ground level live mouse trap and visiting the kitchen counters each night.I have a method that has worked in the past of luring house mice into a tall kitchen trash can by putting a paper bowl with 1/2 tsp of peanut butter in it, or a handfull of bird seed, in the bottom of the empty trash can. This is without the plastic bag in the can. Then I provide something for the mouse to climb on to get up to the edge of the trash can. When the mice jump in to get at the food, they can’t jump out because the trash can is too tall.Last night I used packaging tape to tape one of the sensors to the inside top edge of the trash can. So when the little song started playing on the receiver at around 10:30 pm, I knew the mouse was on top of the edge of the trash can. I was in the next room. A few seconds later I heard a tapping noise, as he had jumped in and was then trying to jump out. Sure enough, he was stuck in the trash can.I then put aluminum foil on the top of the trash can and drove the mouse to his new home (a shrubby area near a stream about 2 miles away). In the past when I have caught mice this way, I didn’t know how many hours they were stuck in the trash can before I found them, and I would check either in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. With this motion sensor I will know right away that they are there.

Too sensative - Constantly goes off with just a little wind,
Have been using for several months now and it is very annoying. It goes off ALL the time with no one in the driveway, The problem is MAGNIFIED when it is a just a little breezy (small amount of wind) It needs a sensativity setting to be useful.

Very Happy!
Love it. As an old lady (old, old lady) I was a little worried about figuring it out. Nothing to worry about. The toughest part was aiming it so it wouldn't beep at cars on the road. Helluva range - road is 120' away. Took seconds to 'install' and works great. More than worth the price.

Not What I expected!
The motion sensor is very good and sensitive especially the receiver even behind concrete walls. However, the motion sensor seems to only detects infrared. It doesn't work if a glass is between the moving object and the sensor. For example, I have to hide my sensor inside my window with my glass window closed so that any movement outside my window may be detected. It doesn't detect anything when my glass window is closed. When I opened my glass window that's when it detects movement outside. This is very good but not to what I expected and to how I had planned to use it.

Adequate and pretty cheap.
I was impressed that a unit this chap could do what it claimed to do. the adjustable chime volume was essential and the chime selection was plentiful. Mounting the unit was a little difficult. The ball and socket mounting bracket was too loose and the not could not be aimed well. Once I got it mounted I found that the motion detection was too sensitive. I intended to use one of the sensors and a door bell and the other as a driveway sensor to detect cars coming down are long driveway. The doorway sensor was mounted on the porch and properly detected people arriving. However, I couldn't get the driveway sensor to work properly. I didn't want wild animals especially deer to set off the bell at night. After a few attempts, I tried placing tape over the lower portion of the sensor and was successful to some degree to lower the sensitivity. However, the alarm was still set off randomly by the wind rustling the brush or moving shadows from the tree cover. Ultimately, I gave up on the driveway sensor, which was the primary reason for buying the unit.
