Perfect size for succulents
This size vermiculite is SO hard [for me] to find. Itโs great for holding a bit of moisture when added to a totally gritty mix with no soil or coir added. Plus, itโs also a mineral treated with heat to โpuff upโ so it retains a bit of l moisture, and your plants get an additional boost from it, as well. However, I donโt advise using if your succulent or cactus mix is heavy with soil or coir. I found this product to be of high quality and equal particulate sizes of pretty close to 1/4โ, give or take a minuscule amount. I highly recommend this brand coarse vermiculite.

Coarse Vermiculite, not sure if 10 QT
I really like the vermiculite, and it was exactly what I was looking for in my soil mix. It came mostly intact, although there was a hole in my bag and quite a bit of powder at the bottom of it. One issue that I ran into is the actual quantity I was sent. I'm fairly confident I did not actually receive 10 qt. I planned a soil mix based off of the 10 qt I was supposed to receive, and ran out of vermiculite way too early. Whether the bag never came 10 or full or whether it just got crushed smaller in transit, I'm not really sure. Regardless, it was what I was looking for, just wish I properly got the quantity I ordered.

True Grade 4 large/coarse!
This particular form of vermiculite is grade 4, extremely coarse, which is exactly what I needed. Vermiculite comes in Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4, all based on the general size of the individual pieces. 4 is as coarse as you can get. It is used for horticulture, agriculture, and packaging/cushioning for shipping delicate items and liquids. The size you choose depends on what you're doing with it. For working with household plants, gardening, etc., you'll probably want to go with #2. The entire point of it is to absorb water and release it as the soil around it dries. It also provides bulk and air space in the potting mixture (I prefer the larger grades for that reason).

Good value
Perfect price for large volume. I use this for houseplants, and to cover seed trays to prevent moss and mold from growing on top.

garden vegetables.
Serves is intended purpose with in my vegetable garden. The product is not heavy. Vermiculite is a non-toxic mineral that can be used in vegetable gardens to improve soil, enhance pH, and promote root growth. Adding perlite to your vegetable beds or container garden keeps the soil loose and aids in aeration. Perlite is a lightweight, sterile material that doesn't harbor pests and diseases. It doesn't deteriorate and best of all, it's non-toxic and is approved for organic gardening.
