Interesting stories but could be better written
I agree with a few other reviewers that the author could have been a little less coarse on some of her subjects. It detracted from some incredibly interesting stories. The book reads quickly and also tells of a different time in traveling. Outside of the above comment, the book really kept my interest as a frequent flyer who has always been interested in what goes on behind the scenes. The stories about Lockerby were very touching and made me reflect in all of the tragedies we've encountered and how it affected so many. Overall I would recommend "Tales" for an entertaining read.

Wonderful Read.
I must tell all, I ordered "Tales" From the Tarmac, received it and spent a delightful afternoon reading it. I laughed, I cried and hold much sympathy and admiration for the Author and her wonderful friends and family. It was an enjoyable and enlightening read. It helps one to appreciate one's own life and loves. Thank you Claudia for sharing your stories.

a bit of a disappointment
I was also an airline employee, first an agent and later a manager, at JFK for 21 years, and I know some of the people who contributed stories, so I was really excited when I learned of this book. I thought, "This will be great--the book I always said I should write but never got around to!" Indeed some of the stories did really strike a chord and were also well written, but overall I thought it could have been better. One of the things that bugged me were the numerous grammatical errors, and they took away much of the enjoyment of reading. Also, in many of the stories she wrote herself, Ms. Oxee tended to hit you over the head, so to speak, with how stupid the particular passenger was, using terms or language that I felt were inappropriate and unnecessary to get the point across. As a result, I was ultimately disappointed that this book was so much less than it could have been.

Great information but so poorly written
Interesting but poorly writtenIt is short stories about the industry over maneuvers. All written be different people. Some of them need a lot of editing to make this book is njoyable

Entertaining and enlightening!
This is such a fun and entertaining book! As a regular business traveler (and coincidentally I read the book on a business trip) I experience a lot of situations but none quite like the stories told by these industry professionals. I applaud Claudia for this creative idea and for giving us a glimpse into the lives of those who spend their days (and nights) in such a frenzied work environment. Thanks for a delightful read!

Very Disappointing
Wow. Just. Wow. You would think the author would have run a grammar check in her word processor at the very least. But, yes, as other reviews have stated this 'book' is badly in need of editing. However, even more so than that, the author spends more time talking about her previous careers and social obligations than actual "Tales from the Tarmac". She is obviously very pleased with herself, and more often than not writes as though she were some saintly martyr and her customers minions of the devil. I couldn't read more than a few pages at a time without giving up and putting it down. She also feels the need to dumb down every detail to bare bones. Honey, I think people that are buying your book most likely already know what a jetway or tarmac is.I work in the same industry, and I assure you, we are all not as rude as this author. And for the record, at least one of the “5 star” reviews was written by the author. When originally posted, she forgot to log out of her own account before calling for a sequel to this dumpster fire. 🤣
