This Flameless Arc Lighter is AMAZING!
I had never heard of a flameless Lighter before, but when I saw this one, I thought eureka! What a cool idea, right? Not only does it help our environment by disposing of the repetitive buying of plastic lighters that go into a landfill. But it’s SO convenient to utilize. I don’t even mess around with the short little Bic lighters. For my lighting needs I typically used to just purchase the long lighters. The problem with them besides being wasteful is, so much of the time they are difficult to light. There are push kinds & trigger kinds & both can be as equally difficult to use. Especially for someone like me who has both carpal tunnel in my dominant hand, as well as a nerve disorder in my hands & feet. Often times I will struggle to get a lighter started. Then during the holidays when you want to go around the house lighting tons of candles, it’s nearly impossible! Because then it requires you to continue to click it on, light the candle. Turn it off, move to the next candle & start all over! For me & others with disabilities this is a very difficult task! So this Flameless Arc Lighter is a game changer. The safety cover is very easy to slide up, then you simply press the red button & away you go lighting candles (or whatever else you need to light!) I read a review stating the guy had difficulty pressing his red button. He suspected that it may have been a one off, & I must agree. Because I found it very easy to push, even despite the challenges I have with my hands. As far as the back and forth on whether it’s an actual safety cover versus just a cover, honestly I don’t see why the verbiage matters? Because why in the world would you allow children to handle/play/use this any more readily than you would a standard lighter? Both can burn a child, so a responsible adult wouldn’t allow anything that could ‘burn’ them to fall into their little hands.I couldn’t agree more with all of the uses for this incredible lighting device! It’s perfect for lighting everything from a BBQ Grill, to a Campfire. From a Candle, to a Fireplace Fire. We also have a boat, & because this Flameless Lighter can light despite the wind, it makes it the perfect lighting device to keep on board for smokers, for lighting the candles while going on a nighttime cruise, or even for emergencies. We live in CA & close to the beach. Have you ever tried lighting a lighter at the beach? Oh my gosh, oftentimes there is so much wind! So bringing a lighter like this both for the smokers but also for the bonfire we like to lifht at night is a Godsend! It would be great for emergencies as well. Up until now, I’ve kept matches for emergencies. But God forbid they were to get wet. Or, let’s say they don’t get wet, but once they are gone, they’re gone. You’d get way more ‘emergency’ use out of this lighter, so I’ll be buying a second one just for our emergency kit. As someone mentioned, the Flameless Arc Lighter arrives boxed up in a lovely manner. Therefore, would make a great & useful gift! My daughter & family love to camp. So guess who is getting one of these lighters as a gift?! This lighter is not lightweight & I don’t mean that in a bad way either! In fact, that is a great thing! It doesn’t feel all flimsy, but instead it feels nice & sturdy. But it’s not too big around either, because I have little hands. Yet, I don’t have any difficulty holding or using the lighter. I’m telling you, this Flameless Arc Lighter is a wonderful thing to own & have on hand! Whether you’re just trying to reduce disposable waste, or be prepared for an emergency. Whether you need a good sturdy wind proof lighter or that you just don’t want to worry about running out of butane & getting stuck without a lighter. Do yourself a favor & buy yourself at least one, if not more of this awesomely amazing lighter! It’s so affordable AND rechargeable! I mean, how cool is that? So now when the butane runs out, instead of tossing the lighter out, all you have to do is plug your rechargeable one in & then you’re good to go! Easy peasy! I hope you enjoy this lighter as much as I have enjoyed & appreciated mine! :)

Needs to be recharged often, but nice lighter!
I love that this lighter is rechargeable. I got this so I don't have to throw away all that plastic from the disposables. I have two issues. I have had my lighter for a little over a week now and I have noticed it needs to be recharged very often. Even thought I admittedly am using the lighter way more then an average person (I'm wick testing on candles I'm making so I'm lighting 10-15 candles at a time every day) I was hoping it would need a recharge for maybe a week or so. I've already recharged it 3 times. Second issue I am having is lighting the wick. For a candle wick to light it has to have the wax around the base melt a little so it will feed into the flame and keep the wick lite. Because this only will light the wick and not melt a small portion of the wax around the base of that wckk like a butane will, I'm having a problem getting the very last of the candle to burn. So I'm getting stuck with about 1/2 inch of candle left that I can't burn. Overall I absolutely LOVE this lighter!

Four Stars! (Will update again if it doesn't last)
Let's start with the negatives:The safety switch doesn't entirely cover the activation button. The activation button is NOT DISABLED when the safety switch is covering it. (or in my case, 90% covered)-----This means that if you somehow managed to activate the arc when the tongs are tucked in, you could risk electrocution if in contact with the metallic body. I find this unlikely to happen as long as you use the lighter for its intended use. (i.e. DON'T carry it in your pocket)And now the positives:I didn't expect the lighter to weigh this much, however I appreciate this because it makes it feel expensive. When handling the lighter, it does not creek, or flex. Solid build. The safety switch slides smoothly and is made using the same high quality material as the rest of the body. The plastic center and metal ends go well together. Plastic is hard and smooth, does not feel rubberized.I haven't been able to blow out the electric arc using my breath, wonderful!

Safer alternative for lighters, for non-smokers
I am not a smoker, but there are times when I need a light for candles or other uses. The problem with conventional lighters is requiring fuel (Butane or Lighter fluid) that frequently dries up when I need to use a lighter. When I saw that these type of rechargeable lighters came out, I acquired one. But the first wave of lighters have recessed heating elements that do not work for all situations. This is more of a wand type of lighter. It is great for starting a grill or fire pit. It also works for lighting candles. The heating element retracts by a level, and the power button is recessed. It charges through a Micro USB cable. For household duties it works great for what I need. The bottom of the handle does warm up after a few uses but it doesn’t get hot. It is recommended not to keep the element on for more than ten seconds but most things light up in 2 to 3 seconds.Overall, it is exactly the type of lighter that a non-smoker, like me, needs around the house. Because of its size, it is not portable enough for casual users.

Has lots of pluses but one small minus
I’d like this product because it feels heavy and substantial and feels like something James Bud would use before courting one of his mistresses. Laugh. We own a restaurant dinner theater that does burlesque shows in St. Louis and go through a lot of candles. The only problem with this is the switch that you push very difficult and takes a lot of pressure. It may be the one that I got but I bought three different brands to use and this is the last one we use because it’s so hard to push up and I literally have to teach each new server how to use this one so it ends up sitting to the side. I don’t want to talk badly about this company because I may have just got A bad one.
