A bit more mysterious than it strictly has to be
As others have noted, the green insulating sleeve covering these batteries is annoying. One might think that the package would have some note explaining why these don't work like everyone else's batteries. There's plenty of space on the back of the package; all they'd have to do is make the blurb telling us how super-fantastic the product is a little bit smaller. Then there'd be room to squeeze in some useful information about the green insulator. But such is not the case. Taking off the plastic could be a challenge to anyone who's a bit of a maladroit, as the battery is small and slippery, and hard to hold onto while juggling a sharp knife. Anyway, once safely held, cut off a slice of the green stuff, just like peeling a potato. One cut should do it; fingernails should suffice from there on to pull off anything green. The real annoyance here is a bit more subtle. Equipment powered by these sorts of batteries generally have battery compartments with nasty little covers. The covers are small and have even smaller tabs and catches sticking out the sides, as well as ridiculous little screws holding the whole thing together. When - not "if" - these plastic parts fail, or the little screws go AWOL, the product will be functionally dead. Now, in this case I had to open the battery compartment, take out the old dying battery, and put in this new one. No function. So I open the compartment again, take out the new battery, flip in around, put it back in, and screw the cover back on the compartment. Still no function. So I open the compartment again, take out the new battery, put the old one back in, and attach the lid. This time the thing works. So, open the compartment, take out the old battery, put in the new one, and button up the cover again. And it's back to non-functionality. So I then open the compartment, remove the battery, cut off the green insulator, re-install the battery, and test. NOW it works. This accounts for nearly a half-dozen open/close cycles for the battery compartment door. That might normally happen over, say, a two-year period. So two years of wear and tear on the battery compartment door were accumulated just changing this battery. This is a major deal because I strongly suspect that the useful lifetime of a product like a laser sight is determined by how long it takes the compartment cover to break or be lost. Once in and working, the batteries function as expected.

Work well
What can I say? They fit. After removing the dead battery, and inserting one of these, the laser sight works fine. Lets see if this last a couple of years like the original one did.

Viridian product review.
Good as can be expected, battery go dead after about 2 years with out usage, but glad to see you can get through Amazon, you use to get them free through Viridian, but not any more, for that reason will never buy Viridian products anymore.
