A good worker placement game, easy to play and with plenty of intricacy if you want to delve deeper
This is a really interesting worker placement game, ideal to progress on to from games such as Lords of Waterdeep. The theme is set in Japan where you control your president and deploy assistants to various tasks, each is then realised when your president visits. Generally the more assistants placed on a task the better the result.Completing tasks gains you resources such as silk or copper, which may be used to fulfil orders, or influence may be increased for end game score, etc. Set collection is another scoring factor.Yokohama is quite easy to start with however planning the journey your president takes and the number of assistants deployed are key to big scores. This version has card resource tokens unlike the Kickstarter one which has nice wooden ones. I might look at online sources such as board game extras for tokens.A tip – it can look quite busy so try keeping the score track separate from the tile layout to reduce the apparent complexity.A four player game might take around 2 hours.
