I used the older, orange colored version of these for years and really liked them. When they changed to the previous clear version, the material was significantly stiffer, which became very uncomfortable with any length of usage. After reading some reviews suggesting that the new version was softer and more flexible, I decided to give them another try. These are much more comfortable than the Sonic II’s were! I recently shot in a sporting clays event and they were so comfortable that I forgot they were in! It was great to take them out, after a few hours, and not have sore ears! The same noise reduction of previous versions is still there and works very well. After 500 + 12 gauge rounds in close proximity there was no ringing or muffled sound to my hearing! If you need comfortable, convenient, quality hearing protection, you won’t be disappointed!

I am a musician and play in two bands, one of which is very loud. Rather than be the complainer in the band, I use these ear plugs. They filter out the damaging decibels, are comfortable and protect me from hearing damage. I highly recommend them. They work.

I had some of these years ago and I used them all the time... they were absolutely great I had to replace them, because the other ones just became way too old... at this point I'm very happy with these .. a little uncomfortable when they're new but they're wearing in so I'm very happy...

I have used these type of ear plugs previously and they are great for out doors or indoors on smaller calibers. If you plan to fire large bore guns indoors I would also use a set of head phones over these plugs. Depending on what you are shooting even using both might not be enough. These will alow you to hear range commands clearly and still protect your hearing, just keep in mind some weapons do exceed what they can handle safely.

I dont typically write reviews but I want to save someone elses ear drums. I originally got this to drown out my motorcycle as I rode because its pretty loud. Not only does this not work but 15 minutes into the ride it fills like my ear canals are swelling. The plugs just get more and more uncomfortable, to the point that when I finally take them out after a 45m ride I'm literally cringing in pain. Please dont buy these for comfort and definitely for loud noises. It's a terrible product. I need to throw these away. I cant believe I used them for as long as I did, probably because i wanted to get my money's worth, but it's not worth losing my hearing over so in the trash they go. Foam earplugs from work are much more comfortable and tone many more decibels out than these.

These worked fine shooting 9mm and .40 hand guns. I prefer a better db rating if shooting rifles or even standing next to an AR. Covering the hole helps a lot but seems to defeat the purpose of ear plugs. I'll keep this in my range back as a spare but want something a little better if shooting all day.

I use these hearing protectors for hunting. They allow me to hear everything that's going on around me while damping out the high-impact sound of shotgun fire to a point where my hearing is not damaged. Do they reduce noise as much as $500 electronic muffs? Of course not, but they do exactly what they were designed to do without breaking the bank. I recommend these for anyone who is looking for good hearing protection at a value price.
