The Amadeus Anthems: Classical Pop Piano Solos

This book was my first introduction to Andrea Dow's music, and it did not disappoint! As soon as I received this one, I was on amazon buying the rest of the collection! These books are PERFECT for students transitioning out of traditional method books such as Piano Adventures. I had one of my oldest students ask to be done with her Piano Adventures books after level 3B, and I had no idea what to give her that she would enjoy but that would also challenge her technically and artistically...until I found these! A couple weeks later, her mom mentioned how much she loves these pieces and how much joy they bring when she hears them! Perfect for students to play and family to listen :)

The music of Andrea Dow is amazing! These tunes are sure to inspire piano students of all ages! The Amadeus Anthems are all based on famous tunes by Mozart but with a modern pop feel. These are an excellent way to introduce students to classical music or just fun to play on their own (I even enjoy reading through them on my own time). I highly recommend this book to start with- but would also recommend the other books by Ms. Dow.

I might just be a Mozart fan, but this is my favorite book. It is also the easiest. Beethoven is a close 2nd.Middle School kids really enjoy playing these pieces that sound difficult to play, but are not.

I purchased this book for my 8 year old son and he loves it. It is his favorite book to play from right now. He is a level 4 in the the Faber Piano Adventures series and this seems at just the right level for him. I really enjoy hearing him play these songs and he enjoys learning them. This book is a winner for us!

As a classically trained pianist with 20 years of music teaching experience, I got this book and was at first confused as I thought I was buying the actual pieces from these composers. After playing through these "takes" on popular classical numbers however, I found out this book is genius for today's students. These series of books provide a pop feel to songs inspired by classic composers that kids who otherwise refuse to play classical pieces LOVE! I am now able to introduce them to the inspired pieces of music and assign the pop version which they are very excited to play. Throw an electric piano sound on the studio piano and they are ready to tackle these wonderful intermediate level pieces. This is pure genius and a great addition to the repertoire at my music studio that gets students excited, playing music and most importantly, practicing at home.

My teen boy student was at home with the rhythms and jazzy sounds - and recognized some of Mozart themes. I also was fascinated with the improv on Mozart's creations so both of us found a different approach to some classics from the past. Teens are so into rock, jazz, etc, and music that can use this medium to teach is priceless.

This is a fun book to play through. These are not the original songs by classic composers but are shorter songs (most are 3 pages) written and inspired from parts of well known classical music. As an intermediate player, I can sight read this music and enjoy it. I have ordered more of these books.

All of Trevor and Andrea Dows books are amazing! I especially love the Amadeus sessions books. They make teaching piano more fun for my students. I have almost turned all of my students into Dow’s fans from kindergarten to adults with all of their WunderKey books and Sessions books! I highly recommend!

I have all of the books in this series. I started off with Beethoven and fell in love with it, and knew I just had to purchase the others. Totally love playing these for myself but can't wait for students to start playing these beautiful arrangements merging classical and pop. Perfect to engage students of today.
