Enid Blyton Adventure Series 8 Books Box Set Collection Children Classic Books Paperback – January 1, 2010

I absolutely adored Enid Blyton's Adventure Book Series as a child. When my 5 year old told me she was ready for "books without pictures" to read at bedtime, this was the first series of books that came to mind. I was worried that it would be too advanced for her, but we are on the third book now and my daughter is totally hooked. The English is a bit old fashioned, but that doesn't seem to bother her (or me) at all. We have wonderful conversations about the books during the day and make each other laugh by quoting Kiki the parrot. Super fun to see her enjoy these books the same way I did many decades ago. Part of me wishes that the girls in the books had a bit more of an empowered role (they often "get scared" and "remember to pack and serve lunch to everyone"), but I guess that is the caveat for reading children's books from the 1950s. In my opinion, it does not detract from the well written, engaging adventures that the kids go on. The paperback quality is not the greatest and the covers are quite thin. Wish these came in hardcover as well.

This is a great adventure series of books. I loved the Famous Five books and bought these hoping they would be just as good. I was not disappointed. The books arrived on time and packaged well. My grandchildren are enjoying reading the books. I'm so glad I bought these books!

As a North American, I just simply love the British for ALL of their incredible writers such as the late Mrs. Enid Blyton. Though this "Adventure" series were originally written over 70 years ago, they are still as timeless and enjoyable today as they must have been back then.

Love, love, love reading these to my 8 year old grandson. Even though the stories are staid by today’s standards they stand the test of time. Lots of action and adventure for girls or boys.

The books are still as amazing as I had remembered from my childhood. My 8 yo son was super excited to receive them and immediately started reading Book 1.Although, I was little disappointed with the packaging. It said its box set, box was missing. When we opened the package, all the books were scattered, someone had ripped the plastic cover too. I could give only 4 stars due to bad packaging and incorrect description of it being box set, when it is just a set of 8 books, no box.Having said that, all kids must have an exposure to these stories, quality of writing, so relatable to kids!

I read these stories when I was young. My boys love these stories too, and so does my husband. It's so great hearing them laugh before bed at the antics of Kiki!

I read these books as a child and my granddaughter loves them now! She has read each volume at least three times.

A family friend bought the first two Adventure books as a present for me when I was a kid. I remember absolutely loving them and reading them over and over. Then I saw this Adventure collection, many many years later (!) I am looking forward to revisiting my childhood. I will wait until there's a snowy day this winter and curl up on the sofa, to make friends again with Philip, Jack, Dinah, and Lucy-Ann...and of course Kiki! It will be fun.

All the fabulous Adventure series in one neat package. Reading these page-turners has brought back happy memories of going to the library and finding one of these on the shelf. Such excitement!Re-reading them now, it's easy to see how unrealistic some of the plots are but there's no denying that Enid Blyton knew how to tell a rattling good story. It's nice to see the original cover artwork re-used but sadly, none of the books have any illustrations.The set was very good value and presented in a colourful slipcase.

I loved this series as a kid, bought it again for my own kids some 30 years later, and they, too, enjoyed it a lot. The "mysteries" and the characters presented in the books are perhaps a little bit old fashioned by now (after more than 70 years since the stories were originally written), but still fun to read and exciting to discover.
