This rechargeable LED beanie is a great idea with lots of applications especially for dog walking after dark when you want to be able to pick up and bag the dog poop. It also makes you more visible so you won’t get hit by a car and allows you to see the ground or sidewalk in front of you so you won’t trip and fall. For winter use I like the combination of the beanie for warmth and the LED light rather than having to layer a headlamp over my hat. This has a single control to press to turn on (starts at high) and then to 75% and 50% light levels and then off again. The lamp pops out of the hat for recharging and so you can wash the hat as needed. The charging is done by plugging into a USB outlet without using a cable and there is an indicator light which shows red initially when charging and then green when charging is completed. I have a larger adult male size head and it fits me fine with room to spare and I think it would fit many 10 year old children. There are certainly brighter headlamps but this is more than adequate for my usage. I would like to be able to get a two pack of these LED beanies with two extra lights for extra long usage if needed and in case the LED light wears out or is lost. I appreciate that this is pseudo branded by the seller in a custom box since it makes it nicer for gifting and suggests some care in their sourcing process.

I'll admit that I was skeptical about how "utilitarian" this beanie-light combo would be...and now, I've used it every day for a week and I love it!This is a basic hat without any company logos or frills - it fits snug, it's nice and warm, and it's the right size for my regular head.The LED light on the front is SIMPLE, which I love. Three light settings: brightest, medium, and low, without any gimmicky flashing modes or red lights, which makes it a very carefree process to toss the hat on my head and hit the single button for light.The LED unit is removable, so washing the hat won't be an issue. The unit is also removed for charging, which you accomplish by simply plugging it into a USB charging block on the wall. The LED will remain red while charging, and green once fully charged. Nice and simple!The LED isn't the brightest lamp out there, and I appreciate that! Most of the time, I need indirect ambient light while cleaning up after the day's projects outdoors, and especially so as the chilly winter creeps into New England and we lose our daylight well before 5pm.I'm looking forward to gifting these around this year...great product, great fit, and HUGELY useful. I bought this beanie to wear when taking my dog for a walk in the early mornings or after sunset. It is really very useful for this and I am so glad I bought it.It is very comfortable to wear and warm, so in the cool fall nights I do not need to shiver as I wait or worry about stepping in unpleasant unmentionables either.The light has 3 settings that I can choose from and they are all bright enough for me to see where I am walking. I need to wear it so that the light is turned downwards as otherwise, it points straight ahead and could blind a neighbour.I also plan to use this on my forays to estate sales in barns and farms, where I often go into dark sheds and barns - perfect for looking in dark nooks and crannies and avoiding spiders.The light is placed in such a way that it points ahead exactly to where one expects ones eye to go, so I do not need t adjust my head or the beanie for that, except when taking my dog a for a walk at nights.Very please with this beanie. I plan to buy another for my spouse.

Got a couple of these little hats for stocking stuffers. They’re pretty neat & the 3-speed light is fairly bright. Charges easily. There are several different brand-names of these hats, some a bit less expensive, that look like the same hat. I ordered one of those, to see if they really are the same manufacturer. I’ll let you know.All in all, they seem to do what they’re supposed to do.

I have the red LED Beanie with light. The color is great! It is hard not be able to see my kid running around against the snow with this on! Plus they can operate the LED light with their gloves on if needed and no changing out batteries or plugging in a USB cable, instead the light is removed from the inside and then plugs in directly to a USB A plug and charges. So easy and convenient to recharge when needed. No extra cables to keep track of. The way the light is installed and easily removable, the light cannot fall out or be lost unless the lip of the hat is somehow flipped down and then the light pulled out. Which makes the risk of losing the light very unlikely. But leave it up to someone to lose it! It is a great hat for the price and the features! Everyone is getting one in their stocking this year!

The hat is comfortable and warm. Just the right amount of stretch and soft feel.The LED light is decent depending on what you plan to do with it. The light is in no way a spotlight. Very wide and dispersed light.With battery fully charged, I went for a walk in the dark and I can see well for for about 10 feet ahead of me and I can see OK to about 15 feet. At 20 feet out you can see a object ahead but no detail. That being said it is perfect for looking at things 10 feet or less away. Great for working on vehicle or going into an attic as it casts its light way up and down and all around. OK for going for walks outside but I still bring a brighter flashlight incase I need to see at a further distance.In all reality, the hat alone is worth the price and the LED light is just a free bonus!
