On behalf of the Isle of Man, Pobjoy Mint is delighted to announce the release of another two coins in the unique series Fairy Tales. As before, both intricately detailed uncirculated cupro nickel coins portray a different famous fairy story which have been penned by well known authors. This beautiful collectors coin features Snow White and includes the Wicked Queen disguised as a peasant woman tempting Snow White with the poisoned apple. The Seven Dwarfs, the magic mirror and the Prince rescuing Snow White are shown in the background with some of the tools of the Seven Dwarfs illustrated in the surround. The other coin in the collection portrays the story of Goldilocks being caught asleep in Baby Bears bed by the Three Bears when they returned home from their morning walk in the forest. The broken chair is shown and images of the steaming bowls of porridge that Goldilocks tasted depicted in the surround with teddy bears and forest flowers. Each wonderfully detailed design is framed by the title of the fairy story and the value is at the base. Approved by Buckingham Palace the obverse of each IOM coin carries a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS FSNAD and is dated 2006.
