The book I've waited my whole life for....
I have just finished "Angel's Mask" (The Phantom Saga: Book One) by Jessica Mason and felt compelled to instantly write a review (something I usually forget to do). My only complaint is with myself; That I didn't read it sooner! As an Avid "Phantom of the opera" fan, I sometimes feel a little caution to read or view new material, in case it doesn't live up to the internal hype of the obsessive fan that I am. I WAS THRILLED by every page and absolutely admired the clear level of time and research that had gone into so many aspects of the writing. I was reading a book, written by someone with as much love for the story as myself, and that is impressively evident throughout.I laughed, I cried and I annoyed everyone in my life with how excited I was to be reading about the Phantom, in a way that I had always wanted to. I can't thank the author enough for bringing this to life for the world - I am about to start book two....I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Don't wait like I did...

great read
Wow this is an amazing read and I hope the phantom is able to keep hold of Cristina in the next book. This book is better than the film by Andrew Lloyd Webber

A Must Read For Any Phantom Lover
I can't remember the last time a book hooked me in so deeply that I finished it in less than a day. Angel's Mask was impossible for me to put down -- maybe it's the ghost of the fangirl in me that has never truly wanted to give up her obsession with the dark romance of the Phantom and his Opera. Jessica Mason gives depth and history to Leroux's original tale, finally providing the backstory of how Erik became Christine's Angel of Music in the first place.I found the addition of new characters charming and it was nice to see some diversity injected into the story as we learned more about them. The book is, at heart, a romance and I am reviewing it as such -- the story is simple but enchanting and every time I began to set the book down to turn my attention elsewhere I found myself picking it right back up again with the promise of "just one more chapter!"In full disclosure I read the Kindle version of the text and my only complaint is that this version is in need of a second edit. There were a handful of uncorrected typos, forgotten words and grammatical errors but not enough to distract from the story. If you're a fan of the Phantom I highly suggest this retelling. I can't wait for the next book to release in July.

The Best Phantom book ever
This book is everything I've ever wanted to read about The Phantom of the Opera and never found. The setting of the story is fantastic and the characters are very interesting. Every time I can I reread my favorite chapters.
