desertcart.com: GOD'S WORD Translation Large Print Bible: The Bible in Clear, Natural English: 9780998447728: GWN Mission Society: Books Review: A Solid Kindle Edition - The GODโS WORD Translation (GW) is one of my preferred Bible translations, and having it on Kindle will make it even more accessible on the go. The clear, natural English makes it easy to read, whether for personal devotion, study, or outreach. In a world of Apps, the Kindle Version probably serves less of a purpose, unless you intend to read through the year, in order, through chapter and verse. The Hardback Large Print Bible is simple, clean, and easy to read. That said, compared to an app, the Kindle version has some limitations. First, you can't search by chapter and verse, but the Table of Contents lets you jump to chapters through links, which helps with navigation. The linked indexes for Life Application and the Teachings of Jesus are a nice touch of Bible study helps. I appreciate that this edition is always up to date with any translation improvements they announce - and that the file supports Kindleโs note-taking and search features. You can bookmark, highlight, etc. Quite simply, itโs also affordable and instantly available, making it a great option for those wanting a reliable, easy-to-read digital Bible - online or offline. In Print, I love the Grey Leather like cover. If youโre looking for a faithful yet accessible translation on Kindle, this is a solid choiceโjust be aware of the navigation quirks. I first came across the Godโs Word Translation (GW) around 2003, picking up a 1995 editionโa pink cover with shiny blue font that, ironically, I didnโt care for. However, the translation itself immediately stood out to me. At the time, I had recently returned to my faith after a spiritual journey, and not long after, I reconnected with the church. When I found the GW Translation at a local Christian bookstore (now out of business), I was struck by how alive and accessible the Scriptures felt in this version. Having grown up with the KJV, NIV, and some NASB, GW was a refreshing change. The following year, my girlfriend (now wife) also fell in love with this translation after years of reading the KJV and NASB. For years, GW became my primary Bibleโfor reading, study, and even preaching. As I pursued ministry and later seminary studies, I continued using GW regularly. Although I now primarily use the NET (for its transparency and open policy) and the NIV (as it aligns with my part-time church ministry), GW remains a staple in my devotional reading, sermon planning, and outreach work. At Water Street Mission, where I serve among marginalized communities and individuals facing homelessness, GW is the translation I hand out more than any other. Since 2020, I estimate Iโve distributed nearly 100 copiesโa testament to its clarity and readability for those unfamiliar with the Bible. Linguistically, GW places itself to the left of the NIV on the Formal Equivalence vs. Paraphrase spectrum. While Iโm no expert, Iโd probably place it closer to the NIVโit reads similarly to the NLT, yet at times feels more literal than the NIV. One passage where I differ from the translators is Galatians 5:22, where "pneuma" is rendered as "spiritual nature" rather than "Spirit of God"โa choice that, like all translations, likely reflects some theological interpretation. If thereโs one thing Iโd love to see, itโs more premium cover options and a Strongโs-matched edition for deeper study. However, as a clear, natural English translation, GW remains one of my favorites. The Deluxe Large-Print Bible is my personal go-to edition. If youโre looking for a Bible that bridges readability with faithful translation, Godโs Word Translation is well worth considering. Review: Easy to read Bible - This is so easy to understand. Love this little Bible. I read my Bible more because I understand what Iโm reading

Nice easy to read Bible
It's easier to read and understand but I think it skips some important details and skips around a bit more than I'd like. I'm still getting familiar with it though and feel I will get a lot out of it. I do wish I'd gone with the hard cover though as soft cover is difficult to open fully.

The Bible for humans
I do a lot of my bible reading on the app and experiment with multiple versions. I already have a travel-sized NLT, so I wanted a big bible for when I'm at home. I did my research on the best version to have all-around and the reviews on this one certainly helped. You just can't go wrong with GW. I was looking for something that I'd easily understand and something with accuracy, and a version that was simpler than NKJV, but also not as amateur at the MSG. On the bible app, I found myself reading GW and TPT the most, and this bible is doing it for me. The language is to-the-point, and the large print makes it very easy to read. I also love loving the durable hardcover. Literally, the only downside is no red text for Jesus. But that doesn't bother me honestly. I love my bible, and I'm so happy I decided on this one.

This is the version I recommend to people who ask me what Bible they should use for regular reading. It's very easy to understand, in normal everyday kind of language. It also doesn't have any problems to be concerned about.
