I have never owned any Ariats before so it was a shot in the dark. I wanted something for the colder months that could withstand the rain, slush, and mess of winter, that was stylish. I can't do heels in any shoe, the cute non practical looking boots were a no for me, so these were the favorite choice. I have worn them a couple of times, tall socks are a must until the tops break in. The first pair I ordered were a size 10 which is my usual size, those were to big and flopped around. I went to a 9.5 and they were more snug, but they have broken in with thick socks so they are loose now as well. I could have probably went to a size 9 but I want to be comfortable in them so I will stick with my 9.5, I will just need two pairs of socks or some insoles. Overall they are worth the money. First trip out in them I had to track through rain and mud and my feet stayed dry and the boots still look new.

This is the second pair. We bought the first pair 8 years back and they were worn almost every day, be it on excursions, or just walking the dogs. The material is sturdy and the workmanship is very good. The look though is, what got my wife. When you buy exactly the same boot 8 years later, we think, that just says it all.

Actually I thought it would take awhile to break them in, but I was able to start wearing them right away

The stitching is beautiful. The boots are good quality. My 1 complaint is that they were a bit lighter than the picture showed. Slightly dissappinted but will keep as they are good in all other aspects
