I love how sturdy these are. They are perfect for my work keys so I don't have to pull them from my pocket every time. The one I'm currently using is holding up really well. There is a slight weight to them due to the hardware but it doesn't affect quality. Highly recommend.

Bogut these to attach my security door key fob to my bet at work and it works great. Price was right and the quality was GREAT! I thought I was going to get some mid level cheapies that would last a little while and then would need to be replaced, but these things are very nice quality so I ended up better than i had anticipated. After seeing several reviews for this product I decided to purchase to replace the cheap badge holders commonly found around the office . On first glance the build quality of the retractable badge holder seems very solid. The case is made out of a thick plastic. The clip is of sturdy metal for its size. It comes with a keyring which I did not use and a fabric reinforced plastic badge strap that has held up nicely. The retraction mechanism works flawlessly, and never sagged during the 3 months I have used the device. The only downfall of this product is the cable. After 3 months of use, the plastic coating on it has worn away in spots. This lead at first to the cable fraying near the badge end. Finally, the cable failed to the point where it was no longer usable, as the cable frayed and gets stuck outside of the retraction housing. If this would have happened after a year of use, I perhaps would have chalked it up to normal wear and tear. But I feel like I just purchased the thing. Thankfully they come in a two pack so I have switched over to the second. I will see how long this one lasts.
