Accurate and more functional than most refrigerator thermometers.
Very pleased with this thermometer. To properly measure the temperature in my Beverage Cooler the temperature needs to be taken from a liquid. Air temperature fluctuates too much specially in a small refrigerator. I was able to route the probe through the defrost drain and into the cabinet. The probe is in a bottle of water. This avoids having to pass the wire through the door. I compared the thermometer readings with my reference thermometers and it is accurate. I am not interested in the alarm feature so I didn’t test it. The min max feature was very important to me and I like that I can reset that at will. Only wish would be that I would like to be able to turn off the beep when buttons are pressed. I have a dog that freaks out from anything that beeps so when I reset the min max he bolts out of the room from the one beep of the button. I will probably order another one of these soon.

So far, very happy
I've only had these a week, but so far they work great. I say "these" because I bought six of them to monitor 6 different freezers. I had all six of them in a single freezer along with an old-fashioned red alcohol thermometer, and they were all within a degree of each other and the old style thermometer. I like the fact that it keeps track of hi and low temp; also like that you can reset that and start tracking over with a single intuitive push of a button. The only small downside is that the magnet isn't very strong, and the magnet is low on the unit, so it tends to rotate one way or the other; it felt dicey as to whether or not it would stay put, so I chose to support with additional magnets. I'm not using the alarm function, which seems to be the source of many of the complaints. I just bought three more for the three fridges I am responsible for.

Nice, small thermometer
Easy enough to set the min and max. Something to note, the alarm does not seem loud enough to really alert someone if it is in the fridge or freezer. That’s doesn’t really apply to the purpose I needed it for so it didn’t affect my rating. The display is large and the probe is super long. It’s small enough to not get in the way and it seemed to be accurate for us.

does not correlate to the analog temp
I placed an analog thermometer inside fridge and this digital thermometer outside the with cord placed inside on top shelf towards the back. The 2 temps are always +/- 5 degrees of each other......

CHEAP PGE REFRIGERATOR MONITOR
great unit for the cheap price - took care of a use that i did not want to spend a lot of money on. i am using it for food safety and PGE shut down monitoring of a refrigerator where the house is not always occupied. Alarm works great but more important is to see if the refrigerator goes higher than 40 degrees F

Although lacking in volume (especially for old ears) it is a good indicator for out of limit ranges
For the price, you can't beat the ETHMEAS Digital Thermometer/Alarm. At a glance, I can see what the temperature of my freezer, refrigerator, and direct vent tank-less water heater is. I can see the high and low temps. Then their is the programmable alarm feature. Although lacking in volume (especially for old ears) it is a good indicator for out of limit ranges. The mounting magnet is a great feature also. I wish it had a contact closure for a louder external alarm. For the price, what more can you expect.

refrigerator and freezer checker
this is even better than initial description. It has min-max scale and is easily reset, also easy to change from F to C. An excellent instrument at a reasonable price for the homeowner.

Easy to use and seems accurate
Easy to use and seems accurate. The probe has a round cable that goes through the door gasket, but I don't notice any cold air leaking out of the freezer. l recommend placing the probe towards the back to avoid getting the Over Temperature Alarm when you open the door for a minute. ** UPDATE ** My freezer failed when I was not home, and the alarm stopped before I got home a few hours later. The next day I found the frozen food melting. This is actually a useless product because the alarm goes silent after a while, and you may not know about the failure for days. It's not 5 star any more...
