I like this balm because it is safe for my dog, in case she licks it off. She's a rescue, and her paws got some chafed spots because she wasn't used to walking so much. This does the trick to help her heal, and protect her paws from further wear. Of course she hates when I put it on, but she doesn't seem to mind it after that. The smell is very strong (fills the whole room), but is a pleasant, natural smell. I've decided to put the balm on her outside, right before we go on a walk. That way, she doesn't lick it off, and the mess is kept to a minimum. I agree that the lid is difficult to open, but I've figured out how to shimmy it off. My tub came perfectly intact, without leakage or melting into a big glob on the side. This is saying a lot, considering that I live in the hot desert, where we have to keep chocolate bars in the fridge!

This stuff is a miracle! Great results first time I used it on my senior dog's paw pads. It does have a medicinal smell, but not too strong. Very easy to use. My dog did not try and lick it off. It made his dry cracked paw pads soft after one use. I am using it multiple times a day to get his paws back to the soft black pads that they should be. I am ordering another can!!

First off, this thing works great for cracked paws! It is so much easier to put on then some of the harder balm products and is great if you have a dog that isn't overly keen about their paws being touched. I only put it on once a day unless we go out in the rain or snow since my dog isn't a fan of his paws being touched and I've seen improvements in texture of his pads. They are looking better and I don't hear them scratching on my satin sheets anymore! Secondly, the smell. The patchouli in this product is overwhelming. I smell it all day on my hands and my dog after putting it on my dog. And patchouli is one of those scents that is impossible to mask. I am going to continue using it because it works great compared to the other product I was using before. The moment I find something that works as well and doesn't smell like this I will swap to that because I really hate the smell of patchouli and it is totally my fault for not seeing it was in the product before purchasing it. But if they come out with another version withba different scent, I will get that one! Anything but patchouli

This balm seemed to help or shepherd's cracked front paws quickly and effectively. We used the balm and dog boots for several days - and her cracked pads healed. The boots prevented her from licking off the balm, as well as protected our flooring from getting smeared with it. Overall, a surprisingly fast recovery.

My puppy got in the habit of laying there while I massages the balm into his paws. His paws were hard and calloused but are now soft and supple. You have to use it every night for maximum effectiveness. Bottle lasts for a long time.

Will update when I see how this works. But I’d reccomend not putting stickers over the instructions or ingredients ?

I recently noticed that my 3-year-old husky's paws were dry and beginning to crack. He also began developing hyperkeratosis, so I knew I had to do something to heal his poor paws. After doing research I came across this balm and decided to give it a try. The scent and texture reminds me of medicated petroleum jelly. I have been applying it once a day for the last 3 days and have begun noticing a huge difference. The area where my dog's paws were dry and beginning to crack are now smoother and softer. The area where he has hyperkeratosis are taking a little longer to heal, but I can still tell it's working. It doesn't seem to bother my dog either. He tries to lick it off at first, but as soon as I distract him with a treat or a favorite toy he forgets it's on his paws. The product advertises that it can be used on noses too, but I haven't tried that yet.

This product is the best there is. It works fast and I swear by it. My Rottweiler is so rough. He’s off leash on our property and we have a 500FT driveway. He gets SO excited when we come out to go for a walk he BOLTSSSSS. A lot of times he’ll skid and scrap his paws. THISSSSSSS balm works miracles for us. Within in 3 days (of me applying 3+Xs a day) his pad has regrown the skin. He’s an insane obsessed licker so I appreciate a product that is fast acting. 10/10 recommend. I’m attaching a phot because right now we are currently nursing a split pad. I’m on Amazon writing a reviews because I am again reordering. I like to keep this on hand for whenever we need it. And unfortunately that’s often.
