From the sense of touch, rear fur are gentle and soft, because real hair is the body .hair from animal, so there will be some oily which make the hair itself very smooth. .Artificial fur is hard, when you touch it, you will easily feel the hardness... 2. From the sense of visual, the color on each tail is different, irregular, even they are .from the same breed, because every fox is unique. But the color of the artificial tail .is almost the same, because they are designed and produced in bulk... 3. From the sense of smell, the real one with a very special fur smell while the fake one .with totally chemical smell.

Fragile, I do not recommend
Coloration is great. Fur is soft. It’s the perfect length (tail itself is about 21”) stopping at my knees (as reference I’m 5’4”). The clip is sturdy enough and very convenient. The whole tail is very fragile though. Parts of it are held together by mats in the fur. The whole thing is on a thin, weak leather strip. I’ve actually had to sew parts of it together because they almost broke apart. So, if you, like me, can’t afford a good quality tail and are willing to put in the maintenance and work, it’s worth it. Otherwise, no. I don’t recommend this product. Also, don’t be surprised that it’s a real tail. It literally says it in the title and description.

My favourite tail!
This is such a long and gorgeous tail. It's got a black streak on the top and is pure white on the bottom. It's so fluffy and pretty!

Good for the price
Got this tail to test out hair dye. It was a success! It took the color nicely. It was cheap and I expected bad leather and for it to fall apart. Mine has not and survived 2 washes, dye treatment and multiple blasts with hair dryer. The leather I can see isn’t the best but it’s holding up well. If you want a better quality I recommend Etsy and get it from a fur tanner. But it will be more expensive. If you just want something for a costume or bag tassel it’s fine.

My 8 year old wore this for her Halloween costume & has been wearing it since (it is now December). The tail has held up nicely.
