I was skeptical on purchasing this but the reviews looked so positive and I was sick of consciously purchasing a stack of bleached paper filters wrapped in plastic and putting them in the trash everyday. One filter, not bad... 1 filter a day for how many years? How much plastic wrap? Who even knows.I received a paper envelope with paper instructions with GUESS WHAT!? No plastic packaging.Whoa..I tried this for the first time today. I purchased the #4 SIZE and I have a 10 cup BUN coffee maker and put 5 "scoops" of coffee in it with 10 cups of water. I washed the filter the night before in the sink with water and dish soap along with my dishes and plopped the filter in the coffee maker where the filter normally goes to dry overnight. The directions say to wet the filter before use but lets be honest - it's not going to happen... My eyes aren't even open at 5am... I WAS SO EXCITED TO TRY IT THIS MORNING - I woke up at 2:30am, 3:30am, 4:30am and SPRUNG out of bed at 5am to make coffee.I placed my 5 cups of coffee into my dry filter and prepared for disappointment (I know I'm very optimistic at 5am).PERFECT COFFEE.. I didn't have a single ground in my coffee, it wasn't watery compared to usual, it was P.E.R.F.E.C.T.

So far so good; been using only couple of weeks in my Cuisinart drip coffee maker. Using it daily to brew my yummy fine-grind, Pilao Traditional Brazilian Coffee. This reusable cloth filter has been successful in keeping ALL the fine grind and acidity out of my mug, maintaining the necessary oils, and makes a full flavored, smooth coffee to enjoy.

Excited to reduce my paper waste,as well as costs! This coffee filter works perfectly and does not alter the flavor of the coffee at all. Just remember to moisten the filter just prior to use to ensure proper flow. Enjoy.

I bought this as a gift for my parents to try helping them on the path to less waste. I have no experience with this, but I asked them over six months later if they're using it and liking it.They said they love it! They can't tell any difference in the flavor or taste of their coffee. They think it's easy to rinse off every day and then toss it in the wash once a week. My parents haven't gone back to normal coffee filters since!It says something about wetting it right before use or whatever? My parents don't do that at all. They have an automatic timer on their coffee pot and do their prep at night before bed so the coffee starts about twenty minutes before they get up in the morning. And they have had NO ISSUES with using this filter that way.I've converted them in at least one way! Let's see what I can come up with next for a zero waste gift. :)

I purchased the cloth filter to replace using a gold filter. The coffee flavor is improved with this filter and I end up with fewer grounds leaking through. Have been very pleased to eliminate partly the plastic in my coffee making. I would recommend this product.

The reason I even went looking for another reusable filter was because our GoldTone filter had started brewing sludge after about a year of use. I was a little worried about the size (it seemed a bit small initially) and how well it would stand when wet so I slid this hemp filter over the outside of my GoldTone and it fits perfectly and prevents any fine grounds from sludging up our coffee.After using this filter for a while now I don't think it would have any issues standing on its own but I continue to use it over top of my other filter. Not only did it prevent the purchase of another plastic filter or the return to paper filters, but it is keeping a plastic filter out of a landfill. 💜I would absolutely recommend this Pinyon reusable hemp coffee filter over paper or GoldTone filters.

I love this natural coffee filter. It is a nice, wide opening and fits beautifully in the round basket type coffee makers. I rinse this with warm water every day, squeeze out with my hands and place in the basket. We make our coffee the day before, for the next day. This is a great reusable coffee filter! Save the trees all we can!
