A great album just too short
Love this album two brilliant performers just loving playing. Bought it after seeing it on you tube but the album leaves me wanting more. I hope they bring out a second one with the tracks that didn't make it onto this one. The sound is excellent I was a little apprehensive since it was a TV special I think, but not disappointed at all. I would Highly recommend for your SRV/Blues collection.

There is a god
Two genuine greats getting together at the height of their powers to make quite brilliant music. These are classic, thumping blues tracks where the guitars siiiing - the two great men feeding off of each other and simply revelling in their powers and shared enjoyment.Typical tracks are 8 minutes plus and could simply roll along forever if they'd been allowed - there's so much talent to squeeze in. If you like supreme electric guitar playing, heavy blues, or even that jazz vibe of a tight-knit group flowing together in perfection, then you'll revel in this. And the recording is bright and true, with that raw edge you get with a 'live' experience. For the money, this is a ridiculous feast. Try the last track - "Don't Lie to Me" and just listen to that amazing bass riff and hammond organ drive which then allows Stevie and Albert to work their magic on top. Supreme. No wonder Albert can't resist breaking into a chuckle half way through - can it possibly get any better?

Masters of the Guitar
It was by accident that I stumbled on this CD, I was viewing a clip on U-tube and came across Albert King in session with Stevie Ray Vaughan. I did read some research on these guitar giants, and it was sad that both these jazz players are no longer with us. But the fruit is still ripe and the music is just electrifying and fresh as though it was produced just recently. I have gained some knowledge about these players and it is a joy and privilege that can purchase this music and experience the masterpiece of these great jazz guitarists. For those who really appreciate the art of jazz, I highly recommend that you purchase this album.

Fantastic!
This album was amazing! I treated myself to it after seeing this session on You Tube one evening and I played it several times over Christmas and even my guests liked it too so a plus. If you like this type of Jazzy soul music then it's not going to disappoint, pop it on You tube for a listen if you want to try it out first.

Blues masters at work
Though a little on the short side, the standard of playing is second to none. Albert really is at his best here. And SRV isn't bad either! Great stuff, and highly recommended if you like the blues.
