I've had an Emerson Smart-set clock-radio-CD player for many years but recently it developed functional issues making it intermittently undependable so I decided to look for a newer model. I chose this one because of it's clean lines combined with the easy to read, brightness adjustable blue digital display. While I no longer have any need for a CD player, or an O.T.A. radio, I want the radio's functionality in the event I need it at some point so this clock-radio hits the spot for me. The only issue I've had with this device was when I set it up for the first time. It didn't initially detect my time-zone or set itself to the correct time, not even after inserting a backup battery (not included) so I had to set those up manually. While this was not an issue for me, it is contrary to the advertised behavior so I must describe the device as not being in compliance with what's advertised. Based on that, buyer beware, but if the initial set-up functionality is not an issue for you and you want a great looking clock, you should consider this one. Ernie

Does not work! I should have read the reviews first, but I have had an Emerson self-setting alarm clock for years. This did NOT set itself as it is supposed to. The lithium batter was dead on arrival. I had a battery, so switched it out, hoping that was the problem. Nope! Still wouldn't set itself. It was a nice clock otherwise, but why would I specifically buy a self setting clock if I doidn't want it to actually DO that?

Purchased 2 clocks they work great, no problem with volume as other posts stated. Would have been a 5 if not for the next paragraph. Only issue was both clocks the backup batteries were dead and had to be replaced, therefore the automatic time, date and day of the week did not work when plugged in, so I had to manually set those functions, but it forced me to read the directions and learn how all of the functions work. Setting the alarm was easy.

I love this clock radio. I can set an alarm, it has a nightlight, I can dim the light on the clock so it’s not too bright while I’m sleeping. I can charge my phone and if the power goes out, it resets itself when the power comes back on. Same goes for daylight savings time, it sets itself to the correct time.

Brand new clock arrived with dead battery! This is a lithium battery for backup, product description advertises that battery is included. To me, that means a working battery! No option to contact seller on this, product support took me to Emerson website. IF I get positive resolution from them, I will update this review. Another reviewer had the same problem, and I just assumed this would mean pop in a AA or AAA battery, which I keep on hand. Very frustrating to find that it requires a special battery that I don't even know where to buy one. Also noted that the "SmartSet" does not work - plugged it in and clock did not in any way set correct time. I had to do it manually, which to be honest, was relatively simple. The owner's manual was clear. I actually had more trouble figuring out radio stations. Sound quality is decent, about what you would expect from a clock radio. Decent radio reception. Blue tooth works well. Overall, for a $10 clock - decent value, I was hoping to buy two more to use in our guest bedrooms, where the battery backup and automatic time set is important. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere to find clocks for those rooms.

It dims for nighttime but not enough for me so I made a felt "cover" that I can toss over the display when I need it dimmer. I had to read the manual to figure out how to use it but found everything I needed.

Not the best in the world, but it's what works for me. I have a hard time waking up sometimes but this one has been able to do it. It's sorta simple, I just set the alarm to the radio and then set it to a static station. Then I blast the volume. Used to scare me awake, but now I'm used to it. Bought this one again bc I broke the last one. Probably was too hard on it. Does the job and I like it

It didn’t Automatically set itself as directions said it would..??!! Directions didn’t work to set Alarm..??!! It started Alarms at multiple times and I couldn’t figure out how to Fix it..??! After spending way too much time figuring out how to set it I finally gave and threw it Away!! A shame nobody does quality control anymore..??!! Too “ smart “ for me I guess..??!! Left me feeling defeated by an Alarm clock..??!! Thx for Bad Experience..??!! Never Buying Anything Else from EMERSON AGAIN!!!

Comprei duas vezes, sendo que a primeira compra foi devolvida por ter chegado com aparência de usado. A segunda compra chegou direito, porém o produto não atende ao que foi proposto. A propaganda informa que você tem que configurar o parelho para seu Fuso Horário e que essa programação seria feita apenas uma única vez, pois ficaria gravada na MEMÓRIA, e toda vez que fosse desligada da tomada, ao religar ela voltaria no seu Fuso Horário. Isso não ocorre, toda vez que acabar a luz terá que ser RECONFIGURADA. Uma das características que me levou a comprar o produto, pois será usado por uma pessoa de 96 anos com dificuldades para essa RECONFIGURAÇÃO. Propaganda Enganosa!!!!!!!!

Great product. It has met all my expectations.

Doesn’t deserve even one star . Sent a clock meant for USA with 2 flat pin plug and 110 v. Date in USA format ie 4th sept is 9/4/21 instead of Uk 4/9/21. Conversion would be £40/£70 and still left with USA date format .Refunded!!
