The Social Success Workbook for Teens: Skill-Building Activities for Teens with Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, and Other Social-Skill Problems Review: An Excellent Resource! - An excellent resource. Many of the Social Skills books I owned were old and outdated. I needed something that would relate to my students and this generation. The Social Success Workbook is an excellent resource. The lessons and activities are relevant for todays teens. Review: Great workbook for my patients. - I would recommend this workbook to parents or practitioners who work with Asperger's and/or learning disabled teens. It's interesting to them as they do want to improve their social lives. It has over 30 short "lessons" that you can give as therapeutic "homework" or parents can help their teen complete over the summer. Both patients I have used this workbook with so far have actually enjoyed it (a 15 year-old and an 18 year-old, both males).

Wonderful resource for teens facing social distress!
I bought this book (as well as the Anxiety Workbook for Teens) to utilize with a teen girls support group I am currently leading. This, like the other book, was packed with useful ideas, questions, activities, suggestions, handouts, and more. It's a great resource for a school or mental health professional to have on the shelf and refer to or make copies from to talk through with teens. Again, this is a book best used in a setting where these can be talked through, as opposed to just filled out personally. It covers a pretty broad range of topics but is very straightforward. I found myself picking and choosing different exercises to meet the needs of my certain group members. There could be more mention about the internet-side of social networking, because more and more teens are wrapped up in that. But there's room for that in discussion. Overall, I think it's a great resource! Thanks so much, Sarah Baker, MAFMT Atlanta, Ga [...]

My aspie girl
I have a teen daughter with Aspergers Syndrom. When I ordered this item I was apprehensive as to how she would react. She LOVED it!! She got started right away at reading and working in the workbook. We showed it to her therapist and her special team at school and all of them were very enthuastic. I ordered more books from this series to help work through my daughters issues at her request. I think this will be a very possitive activity for her and hopefully give her a better understanding of how to handel her special challenges.

Wonderful resource!
I teach a moderate level self-contained high school class. This book has been a wonderful resource for us! We work on 3 social skill chapters a week. The introductory stories are simple & very relevant. The lessons are easily modified to meet the levels of each student. I've been thrilled with this book & highly recommend it to other teachers!

Immature for teens
A little more immature for teens than I thought it would be. Son does not like to work in it. :(

Very helpful for teenagers. Main reason for purchase was to encourage the need for a social filter on comments and how others interpret interactions. Also contains a lot on emotions and how to deal with them. With not a lot out there for teenagers, I was very pleased to have found this book.
