Simple track set, powerful cars

Much better than expected.

I always wanted an electric car set with the track. First of all, the track is very nice. Goes together well and is secure. Very easy to assemble. As for the cars, they are somewhat quite a bit more fragile. The thing I do not like about this setup, which I guess is common for these kinds of electric cars. Is the mesh contact the underneath the car that slides along the metal rails on the track. These have a tendency to wear out pretty fast. Also, the cars look a little bit funny because they are elevated a tiny bit up front because the front wheels for the most part aren't even touching the track. It's just the the mesh contact underneath that contacts the track. Overall it's pretty fun though. One thing I would definitely do if I had the money though would be get to get the wireless system. The controllers feel pretty cheap and they are connected with about a 5-ft cord? It's probably long enough but it's the one part of this whole setup. That seems a little bit unprofessional. That and the mesh contact underneath each of the cars that touches the track seems kind of lame. The track is also a little bit small in this set so I ended up buying an extension pack with some straight pieces to make it much longer which made the setup quite a bit more fun to play with. I find the issue with these kinds of things is that after the initial 10 minutes of playing with it, then you get bored. I found that was the case, even with my grandkids, they'd play with it for a few minutes and then they were pretty much done. And for the amount of time it takes to set up the track and the space it takes to set it up, it's almost not worth it for only 10 minutes of play time.

Tracks are great. But the cars and the mesh contacts at the bottom are a cheap design. One car didn't even run enough times but the mesh got messed up. So I changed it out but during that process, one of the contacts fell inside and by the time I managed to put it back together and tried to run the car, it stopped working. The whole mesh/contact plates set up is a joke. Esp when it's an integral part to the whole race set. These can't be categorized as "premium cars". I had a similar race car set over 2 decades ago and I never had these issues. That's why I'm giving 2 stars. Now I have to order a 2nd car that works. Please do better.
