The cost of the item is $5.99, Amazon charges approx. $3.30 to sell it on their site and shipping (at a discount) costs us 7.55 for a total of $16.64, this doesn't include the cost of help, packaging or overhead. If you are able to purchase it locally, that is the way to go, if not12.45 is about as low as you'll ever see this particular type of cake. Not like a brownie. However if you are a texture eater and you don’t like the feel of the rice texture then you may not like it. I happen to love mochi and love this product. Just a little expensive.
