Great boots, but runs much too large!
First off, I must say that I didn’t quite trust when reviewers said this boot was 2 sizes too large. Wanting to buy something with a little room to grow, considering my 21 month year old is between a size 5 and 6 for toddlers made me a bit skeptical of how big everyone claimed these boots were. Well they were so right! My daughter has grown out of most of her size 5 shoes and just barely fitting size 6 in most brands. Thinking I was going to give her thick socks to wear with these rain boots, I bought her a size 5, hoping they’d fit like a size 6.But these boots are gargantuan. The boot is very sturdy and a bit on the heavier side.. it looked like my daughter was lugging around steel boots when she tried them on. The shaft opening is also quite wide so her feet were slipping right out when she took steps forward.I did a few comparisons of a pair of size 5 old navy boots that fit her snug. The shaft is much larger on the Oakiwear and the boot is clearly more than1 size bigger. I also compared a size 5 and size 7 TOMS shoe next to the oakiwear boots. TOMS has run on the larger side, in my opinion, for toddler shoes.. and the size 7 TOMS looks just about the same size as our size 5 Oakiwear boots. With the size being addressed, this boot is very sturdy and thick. I love the particular design I purchased and how I didn’t need to shell out double the $ for Hunter boots or Hatley, but still got quality and cuteness for these boots. I will just have to wait another year before my girl can wear them!UPDATE: (12/17/18) my daughter is now 26 months old, and she’s wearing a size 6 in shoes, sometimes can slip into a size 7 if they’re sneakers. It was raining a week ago and we tried these on again... still too clunky and hard for her to walk with cause her feet are slipping out. I feel like she’s prob not going to be able to wear these until she’s inbetween a size 7 & 8.

Totally fell apart within three months
I bought these at the beginning of January for my 5 year old daughter. They are super cute - I bought them a little large thinking she could wear them next year. BUT, by the beginning of March they were trashed. Rubber split at the back seam, holes in the soles and the buckles have both ripped off. That was expensive for just a couple of months wear. We live in the pacific northwest, so rubber boots are everyday wear. I think I'll go back to the more expensive, but more durable Bogs, because these were worthless unless you just want good rubber boots for one month.

Better rain boots than the loop version.
I‘be bough oaki wear for my kiddos for the last few years after we fell in love with their rain suits. However they’re not my favorite.I will say this book style of probably my favorite I’ve bought for the durability. I love the hook and loop boots because their prints are cuter and my kids find them easier to slip on by themselves. However those break/break down SO EASILY! The loops break, every pair we’ve ever owned from those crack in the front of the ankle part. These however don’t have the loops so that part breaking clearly isn’t a worry. So far we’ve had these boots for a couple months and the from part of the ankle isn’t showing wear and tear like the other version. I can tell it’s a thicker rubber than the loop ones which makes sense why they’re holding up better too. Overall I like these, but not sure we will continue to buy their boots from here. These are great with thick socks in the wetter months but they don’t keep warm during snow. I assumed they wouldn’t as they’re not insulated but just wanted to add that for those who maybe wondering. They fit as expected, the inside liners aren’t coming out as easily as the loop version so overall I would say these are better boots for the money.

Disappointed in the quality
I’m kind of bummed. I was so excited to get these boots in the mail for my daughter. She is just starting to wear a 6 in shoes and sometimes fits into 5’s. Based on previous reviews that they ran large I ordered these in a 4 so the fit isn’t an issue, although they are shorter than I thought they would be. What I’m disappointed about is right out of the package, they look as if they’ve been worn along the sides and around the front of the sole of the boots there are either scuff marks or stuck on dirt/lint. The buckles are also scuffed. These boots are so so cute, but the quality just isn’t that great. There are uneven seams along the back of the boot, between the sole/base and the boot itself, and the brim at the top of the boot. I might have just gotten unlucky and received a pair of poor quality boots so I may need to exchange them for a new pair and hopefully the new pair will have great quality to match the adorable design of these boots. I seriously looked forever for a pair of rain boots and finally came across these ones and loved the design and ordered them, I hope I can exchange them and get a pair that don’t have the issues that the pair I received have.

Disappointed in the buckles
Ordered these twice, hoping it was a fluke. On the right boot, the buckle lays flat and nicely. On both pairs, the buckle on the left boot sticks straight out as the rubber "loop" it's attached to is not secured to the boot, as it is on the other boot. In one instance, the boot itself has a tear in the rubber where it came detached.Ended up supergluing the loop flat on the non torn pair, because my daughter really wanted these. Ultimately, it looks like the company's tagging process (this is where they are having the swing tag) is ruining their product.

Cute but HUGE!
The shoes are super cute! However, don’t go by the sizing chart because it’s completely off. I went exactly by the sizing chart and although my 23 month old usually wears a 6, the chart suggested ordering a 7, so I did. When they arrived I didn’t even need to try the shoes to see they were humongous! I called Amazon and complained and they quickly got another pair to me...size 6 this time. The 6 is huge too! Pretty frustrating because ordered these for my daughter to wear over the weekend but her foot comes out the 6 when she walks. I’ve decided to keep the 6 and order a 5 as well because I’m already frustrated with this whole process of getting the right size. I still gave the shoes 4 stars because the quality is really nice. My little one isn’t rough on her shoes so I know they’ll last her a while as well.
