LOVED Dante + Simone
In Bloody Heart expect to find:-young love-it's always been you-second chance romance (they meet 9 years later)-light suspense and dramaThis is the second book that I have read in the Brutal Birthright series. And while Bloody Heart is book #4 in the series, I read this book out of order (reading book #1 a few months ago) and it totally stands on its own as a standalone romance.Dante and Simone were just π Oh, how I loved their whirlwind romance when they first met. And yes, while they were young and young love can indeed be based a lot on lust and infatuation, I still felt their chemistry. Dant was just...phew - such a perfect book boyfriend. Always so sweet and caring and feeling as if he was never worthy of Simone. And yet I loved that Simone accepted who he was - not despite how he grew up - but because of it.Their eventual parting crushed me. And when they meet nine years later...gah cue the water works π. This second chance romance is how I want all second chance romances to be - with so much tension, longing and angst. I loved loved loved this book. The last part of it may have been a bit much with the suspense/action, but I felt like it tied in with the book overall.Overall I really enjoyed Bloody Heart. I would actually rate this book 4.5-4.75/5. I can't wait to reread!

Really good series!
This is my second book from this series and it was really good. First off I love the illustrations in all of the books from this series. That small element makes the reading experience even slightly more enjoyable and they are beautifully done. For the actual story, I enjoyed the connection between Simone and Dante. I especially liked that the Gallo's seemed to have loved and accepted Simone even though she and her family were completely opposite the Gallo's. It never seemed like anyone was out to exploit her family status and I appreciated that Enzo gently disliked the relationship seemingly because Simone could potentially get hurt rather than because of who she was or because she was black.Simone and Dante definitely had an instalove but it wasn't annoying or cheesy. Definitely an "it was always you" kind of love. Their story wasn't necessarily anything spectacular but it was really enjoyable and I love how everything came together in the end.

*Breathes Deeply then Screams* BLOODY HEART IS SO BEAUTIFUL
Stick a freaking fork in me because I am DONE! Holy rabies, Sophie Lark, you authorial beast you, this book broke my heart right in two. I legitimately had no idea how engaged I would be by Dante, the Mack truck of a man with few words, but good god, he and Simone were just too precious for words. I just finished this book and I am still absolutely overwhelmed by the storyline and the reunion of it all. It's beautiful. Usually, in a story, I find myself editing to streamline and make it better. I didn't even do that because I was too swept up by the love and the passion and the PINING. Doesn't overtake my precious Nero baby, but hells bells, I love me some Dante and Simone and the stunning timeliness and serendipity of their love story.
