A must have item for all Solo Stoves - the deflector really is a game changer.The deflector is brilliant, east to put together and makes a huge difference to the surrounding area's warmth distribution.Buy this for your Mesa you won't be disappointed.Be aware, it is directly above the fire so does get some soot on it, this soot does stay on the underside of the deflector and will make your hands dirty if you pick up the deflector.It comes with a great oversized carry bag which is big enough to fit the Mesa and deflector in together or I use it to carry enough wood in with the deflector for a couple of fires with the Mesa in it's own carry bag.

Works well and I did try putting a pan of water on the top which boiled very quickly so you could use this to make a nice cup of coffee in the evening

Works brilliantly on my Mesa XL, well worth the money

Very disappointed after purchasing this heat deflector. The headline review that popped up said -"fits my Messa XL perfectly" (It deosn't)! It's now been used & is very dangerous as it slips off due to the wrong size. No mesa XL heat deflectors availble via Amazon so no chance of exchanging or refund. £35 spent which is an expensive mistake - beware when purchasing as it only fits Mesa standard and NOT the XL model.

I purchased two together with the Mesa heaters and I am disappointed with the heat output. Cannot see how they can describe them as patio heaters, they produce a tiny heat radius and get covered in soot almost immediately. For the price they charge you would think they would at least produce enough heat to take the chill off when sitting a few feet away. I doubt I will bother using them again.

I bought the twin pack of these Solo stoves at Costco and was disappointed with the heat. The deflector helps but doesn't make the stove a great heat source...but it does make it better and good enough to use.The deflector sits on top in what seems like a precarious manner but it works, and if not bumped will stay put.Wear gloves when using. The black soot buildup transfers to your hand, and then to your nose with ease. Not that I had an embarrassing experience with that at all. Look away...look away. Thank you.

Bought for my daughter to use at her apartment on her porch. She and her roommates love it and used it during the cooler months in Massachusetts.
