I got this for my grandma who has Dementia
Very nice fidget for my grandma who has dementia. She always wants to keep busy and have something to do, and she gets stressed when she is bored. This has helped in a lot of ways to keep her busy and focused on something. She will lose interest after a little while, but I’ll reintroduce her to it all over again and it’s just as helpful for her.

Special Blanket that touches her heart and mine! ❤️
I work as a caregiver in an assisted living facility. One of my residents has severe dementia and struggles daily with anxiety and confusion. I was so excited to give her this blanket to see if it would help to soothe her feelings of distress and give her an activity to focus on.The reaction I received was priceless! She was absolutely thrilled upon opening the blanket. She loved the different textures to stroke, and kept saying it was, “the most beautiful gift,” she had ever received! I also had placed a couple of her family photos, in the pockets provided inside the blanket.Almost immediately she was drawn to these familiar photos, she ran her hands over them lovingly , and with teary eyes she smiled,as we discussed the names of the family members in the pictures. After reassuring her that this gift was for her and it would be alright for her to touch, twist, braid and move around whatever she desired, I left her alone to discover and enjoy the blanket on her own.The blanket was engaging enough to occupy her for the better part of an hour.. which was an extraordinary event! Observing her enjoying the blanket ,a temporary reprieve from her anxiety, was a special gift! The best part of the blanket is : each time I present it to her, is magical! Time and Again, she is just speechless with gratitude and in awe that I have given her such a beautiful gift! She is overjoyed and excited to explore all the delightful textures and to see her own familiar family photos , a touching experience !I love this blanket and the opportunity it has provided me to bring peace and happiness briefly to my sweet Resident… time and again! 🦋

Nice item for people with dementia, with some drawbacks
I am an elderly caretaker for my father who has dementia. This item has been a favorite of his (even though it is purple), and we carried it on a multi state trip the past month. He sat it in his lap and played with it in the car for hours on end. The only thing I do not necessarily like about it is that some of the pieces are removable, and since he is a tinkerer, he removed every piece that he could. The bad part is that those pieces are now lost, so that is why the iffy rating. Also, some of the latches are hard for him to undo, which isn't a bad thing, but depending on your loved ones ability levels, they may or may not be able to successfully navigate some of the different items on the board. Overall, this is not a bad buy for the value, but does come with some caveats.

Wow snap!
Life with Dementia and Parkinson's is so difficult to be part of with a loved one.Small miracles are always welcome. At first I was hesitant to give this to my mother. She is one of the smartest persons I have ever known and giving her this simple fidget blanket seemed so condescending. But I was wrong. She is a different person now and the amount of contentment she had when interacting with this is simply a miracle. The section for including pictures is excellent. Great to start a dialog. She is obsessed with the rings on elastic bands. The maze with the push balls is genius. They are little velcro like balls that you can push around but you can’t pick them up.She also likes the different texture swatches. She rubs the grass section and soft section togetherSo this really helped a lot with the constant grasping that comes with Parkinson's. The exterior is soft and it snaps closed. It also comes with a nice storage bag. The snap closure is very hard to open. I even struggled a little with it. We never snap it closed anymore. We just slip it in the bag.Keeping it clean is also difficult. We made the mistake of not keeping track of the chocolate chips in her bowl to realize a little too late that she was holding one for a long time. It melted. She got chocolate into the board. It was a mess. Our fault. Not an issue with the blanket. I mention it as a heads up.No small pieces, nothing to lose. It’s a contained unit. The contentment is priceless.

Love the variety
I didn’t get this for someone who is diagnosed with Dementia. I got this for my kiddo who has ASD and sensory input is a large part of daily life. From what I’ve personally read, when it comes to sensory as a whole there’s a lot of overlapping of sensory symptoms that can be observed in both Dementia and Autism. This activity pad provides a wide range of tactile play and activities. Comes stored in a really nice drawstring bag. Outside of pad is well made, stitching creates its own bumpy/soft texture. It’s overall lightweight and easy to carry by the handles. Pad opens horizontally by a snap button. Numerous activities to engage with. Love the dual texture of the grass and fur being on one piece beside each other. Bands for color matching pull easily to the buttons. Overall, it’s a well made pad that provides a lot of different forms of engagement. Would have loved the option to somehow add extra weight to the pad itself for the pressure aspect when placed on the lap (that is also removable for those who do not enjoy the extra weight)…maybe something like a small beanbag with beads that can be slid into a velcro pocket sewn into the front and back of the pad.
