Soft diapers again!
At both 8ish and 14 months into cloth diapering, had been exclusively using tide powder detergent, I noticed my diapers were just getting stiff/not very soft anymore and my son was getting some diaper rash. The first time, I just changed my prefolds size up(second size of petite crown) and it temporarily fixed the problem, the second time I needed to actually figure out a solution. A few runs of Grovia Mighty Bubbles helped my issue a bit, which confirmed my suspicion that it was probably hard water build up in the diapers. I had RLR in the house but for whatever reason just didn’t want to really use it. Figured it was my last resort if everything else failed. I had also purchased Hard Rock and Dirty Diaper Rockin Green (anyone else mass buy things that might help you solve your issue?). I do two heavy duty washes(Frigidaire top loader, max fill washer), first in warm then second wash just prefolds on hot with a soak which extends my heavy wash cycle. I started running the first wash with Tide powder to line 4, second wash I do a hefty scoop of both the hard rock and the dirty diaper detergent. The first few times I noticed them coming out a little softer. Started drying on low for 60 minutes, then air drying to finish them off instead of just drying on high heat. I don’t think I’m ever changing this routine. I feel like it’s just the perfect combination. The diapers continue to come out softer, I know the hard water build up is being prevented, I just couldn’t be happier. I’m going back and washing the first prefold size and I’m seeing the results repeated. If you have hard water and know it (hello mineral deposits on your shower and faucets) this is a great product to look into. I also really love that it’s unscented. One of the things I hated about tide was the scent. Just screams hormone disrupters. The first few times you’re washing to get mineral build up out, you might have to include more detergent. I think I did a solid 3 or 4 scoops with a soak right away but then backed it down a bit. Great product, please don’t discontinue!! Update: now that I’ve gotten the minerals out, I’ve backed down the detergent even more for that second wash in hot… the enzymes can be a little strong once they get wet otherwise and can go after his skin. Or rinse more… want to make sure to get all the detergent out.

This is what you’ve been looking for
Omg! Rockin green is rockin my world! I stupidly have bought many a detergent that was not good at all for my cloth diapers, in fact I don’t think they were good for anything other then wasting my money. There was so much detergent build up left in the diapers & they looked so dingy after every wash, even with hanging in the sun to dry, I just could not get them looking pretty. This is my first time cloth diapering so I didn’t know what I was doing wrong until I did my first swish test... yikes. That’s when I decided to make the switch to rockin green. After my very first use, I had all of these yellow stains on the diapers that were not there when I put them in. At first it totally freaked me out but then I realized, oh no this is a good thing. It’s literally lifting all those stains that were making my diapers look dingy. After 15min of hanging in the sun those lifted stains were gone! My diapers are white again - not kidding, they really are white. No shadow staining or anything!!! Swish test perfection! I’m just blown away. I cannot recommend this enough! I’m also incredibly impressed because we have very hard water and it was still able to clean & save all my diapers. I wish I had thought to take before & after photos, but this is all new to me. I didn’t realize that shadow staining & dingy diapers don’t have to be a thing! This is a total game changer. Icing on the cake - it’s a very affordable option because it’s powder so it’s not watered down like the liquid detergents. One scoop for front loaders, two for top - couldn’t be easier to use especially since they give you the scoop. If you are looking for your cloth diaper detergent, look no further, you found it!

Powerful Detergent for the littlest of people
To be honest, I didn’t do too much research when finding a cloth diaper detergent. Amazon was as far as I researched and this was one of the top options. Now I can see why. This product is powerfully effective but has clean ingredients that I don’t have to worry about. It comes with a a scoop to measure out the detergent. It’s not scented and doesnt leave a residue on the diapers or the machine. I highly recommend this to new mamas on their cloth diaper journey.

Gets the urine smell out of our cloth diapers and potty training underwear
Could be the non cotton material holding onto the smells but with the cloth diapers the urine smell goes away until the baby urinates it and then it is extra strong, even after stripping them. Because I am not sure after researching that it could very well be the material, I gave it a 4. However it is pretty effective for the potty training underwear. I love that it is eco-friendly, dissolves well, easy to use, and that the kids do not have irritation from it since it has minimum ingredients.

Non bias review.
I absolutely love this detergent. I use it for the dirtiest of dirty. Cloth diapers, cloth pads, bathroom towels, and more. I don’t have to worry about brightening agents clinging to fabric and making cloth diapers water repellent and making massive buildup issues. Not all detergents have enzymes strong enough to get the bacteria out from soiled diapers. Since we don’t boil diapers like they did decades ago, we need strong enzymes. This has not failed me. I’ve tried A LOT. Being non toxic and reliable, I stick to this brand. Rocking green has easily out done very competitive brands alike, for our family personally. It doesn’t leave grease stains like Molly suds. It actually cleans with half the amount and a quarter the cost of Biokleen premium. Gets gunk out of athletic wear too. My hubs is a LEO, army national guard, and avid gym goer. Things get funky quick. This is my top go to. Also being a postpartum mom with PCOS, hormonal sweat is no joke. Between that and helping on a mini farm, this detergent is definitely need lol.

Don’t just limit yourself to diapers!
I started using rocking green when I had babies in cloth diapers. I no longer have any babies but this stuff is the absolute best for keeping white towels bright and stain free without tall the toxic chemicals and fragrances.

Not fragrance free and they downsized product
I’ve been a customer for a year and a half, and I think the products are very effective in removing stains, urine, poop, and sweat. However, this product is not fragrance free. It contains tea tree oil, and if you are fragrance sensitive, this product is not for you. They’ve increased the amount of tea tree oil, so it has a very tea tree like smell to it, and I think it’s disingenuous on their part for advertising it as unscented. It should be advertised as having a tea tree oil fragrance. They also reduced the size of the package while increasing the price.
