Is the main colour dark orange rather than red and is it metalic like the customer image appears?

The main colour behind the 'flowers' is r'eddy/mauve', a cross between purple and red. Its a matt finish so not mettallic in daylight although under an electric light it seems to have a sheen. its personal choice but i think its a nice design/colour

Is this a wipeable/washable paper?

Not wipeable or washable. There are areas ofgold which is easily damaged by wiping and an area I wiped wall paper paste off lost a little colour

On average how many lengths per roll do you get allowing for wastage

Usually you get 4 lengths with plain wallpaper 3 with patterned, but it really depends on the height of your rooms. Its lovely quality paper with about 15 " repeat pattern. At this price if in doubt get extra roll.

Is this paper Paste the wall or paste the paper?

Paste the paper. I found this easy to hang and line up. Looks lovely
