SEVERAL RECORDERS FROM AMAZON HAVE, AS YET, NOT WORKED FOR ME.
Second Review 3.15.26: (First review, SEE BOTTOM OF THIS ONE..) After a few weeks of receiving the Gelielim Cassette Tape Player, I returned it. Everything about this Boom Box was perfect, so I thought.. After only a few weeks it wouldn't start. After examining it, I saw that it CHEWED UP the tape that had been PRE-recorded some time ago on a different devise. I've ordered about three of various tape recorders from Amazon. They either chewed up my tape or just stopped working within a few months and I didn't use them frequently. If you order any of these Tape recorders, when you FIRST receive it, play frequently to test it BEFORE the Return Expiration date. FIRST REVIEW: The Gelielim CassZON JUST DON'T SEEM TO WORK FOR ME.ette Tape Player: Received 3 days ago. Very impressed. I decided to go w/ this bigger Gelielim player and pay about $18.00 more. Though I've only had it for a few days I'm extremely pleased. It has Everything I needed except it's own Charging system. It's GREAT FEATURES: Sound is fantastic (clear and smooth, record & playback, AM/FM radio, AC/DC, USB Port, It has a solid weight, Antennae, Looks & feels of quality, and best of all, for me, Automatic Shut Off (I can fall asleep knowing it'll shut itself off). VERY PLEASED! In the past 2 yrs I've ordered two smaller Cassette Players & two of the "Old School" Cassette Players that students used to sit on their desks in school. The sounds were tinny, scratchy and irritating. I tolerated them. The last one lasted about 8 months. All buttons worked but the Play button completely stopped.

Works well, good value for the money
This is an easy to use, lightweight, portable boom box. It's a good value and so compact. I wanted a cassette player after my old one broke. If you have a few tapes, it's worth picking up one of these so you can still play them. It's nice looking and works well. Buttons easy to operate and nice to have the option to use with electricity at home or batteries on the go. It gets surprisingly decent reception and has good sound for such a small device.

Very good quality cassette player w/radio
This cassette player is awesome. I had a tape that was about 40+ yrs old and I wanted to hear it clearly. I always read the reviews and the cheaper models were not good. The reviews on this one said it was excellent so I spent the extra money and bought it. Money well spent! I was able to clearly hear this very old cassette that was dear to my heart because it was my dad who had given a talk at a meeting. What a joy it was to clearly hear his voice again.

Stopped working after playing just a few tapes.
This appeared to be a good product at first. I used it twice to play about six tapes and yesterday was the second time. It ate the tape I put in and I had to pull the tape out. It all came out but now it won’t play any other tapes. Any tape I put in just sounds garbled. I am very disappointed. I had someone coming today to hear a couple of the tapes, and I won’t be able to play them for him. I am just going to throw the thing away. Waste of good money.

OK value for the money, poor design; keep your expectations low
My component cassette deck, which I believe I bought in 1994, experienced a slow death the last few years. First it played tapes a little slow, then much slower, then not at all. My grandson gave me two boom boxes that had been sitting in his garage. The first I tried played one tape, then gave up. The other did not play at all.. I rarely listen to cassettes but I have a few with material not available elsewhere in my collection, so I decided to blow $35 on a new cassette player. When it arrived, I plugged it in and inserted a tape. It was very difficult to get it in and I had to basically force it. When I attempted to close the access door, it would not close. I cussed a little and thought I would have to return the unit, but examined it more closely, and realized the cassettes needed to go in with the open tape access area up – in other words, upside down. I played one tape successfully, but when I tried another and pressed the PLAY button it would not stay down. I had read a number of reviews of players and this was a problem another buyer had reported (I don’t know what brand he had). In addition to going into the slot with the open section down, every cassette player I have ever owned or used played the tape from left to right. However, the tape must not only be upside down, it must be backwards, so that it plays from right to left. So – One star off for stupid design. What about quality? I did not expect much for $35, so I was not really disappointed to experience transistor radio quality sound. Still, you can’t have full stars for a low-quality audio device, so another star gone. I’ve played a dozen or more tapes, and the player seems to work OK. I keep the volume low to avoid the distortion that is “normal” with low audio quality. I have not tested the unit with batteries, but will soon. The manual (what there is of it) lists the battery type as "UM-2.” Amazon’s page seems to indicate that it uses standard C cell batteries. This is very confusing. I think I have to buy 4 C Cells; if they don't work, I am out the cost with nothing else to use them in. Research indicates that UM-2 is the Japanese designation for C Cells. Amazon should use clear English on their U.S. web and the seller should do the same in the manual. If you keep your expectations low and can adapt to a design that is different from 99% of the cassette players ever made, this is a reasonable value for the price.
