I use this magnifier for painting 28mm scale miniatures and it works great! The magnification is superb and greatly helps me see any areas I missed. And, I love the flexibility of the arm. It's really maneuverable allowing me to turn the magnifier to any angle I need. Plus with the magnetic mount, I'm able to move the magnifier around my work space easily to keep it out of my arm's way. The light is good for seeing a specific spot, but I use another light for illuminating the whole miniature. All in all, this is a fantastic purchase and I would buy one again without hesitation.

Great accessory to the Quad Hands device. I would prefer optical quality glass lens for magnification. The acrylic plastic lens is now common but in the workshop environment scratch too easily. Finding glass lenses is almost impossible now days so little choice in that area. Other than the plastic lens issue the item fits nicely and can be configured to infinite positions due to the electrical. The LED's require 4 [four] LE1130 coin batteries. There are only two LEDs but they are bright enough to be useful. The LED's are located on the edge [6 o'clock] so the light is brightest toward the flexible shaft side of the lens.

Really really great magnifying glass! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and strength of the magnet. That magnet locks on super tight and will not budge or fall lover on you. I remember reading a review that mentioned a week magnet and they are either out of their mind or earlier versions might have had a weaker magnet. The LEDs work fine and are bright enough for what they are but are not anything special or great. Very basic light.The only con and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 are the batteries and the screw holding the battery cover. After two times of opening up the battery compartment the screw has started to strip. Why even have a screw. Just means it will take you longer to swap the batteries out. Should just snap shut. Also, wish it used some sort of standard small rechargeable lithium battery. Pretty easy to accidentally leave it on. Usb port would also be nice to power the LEDs.

I very much like this magnifier. The LED is nothing to brag about and the magnifying lens is made out of something other than glass. And so, I will admit that my 5 star rating is a little bent because I absolutely love the quad hands system in general. I have a big desk lamp that stays where I put it. And now I have a magnifying glass that stays where I put it. It is absolutely a great system. The joy of working is comparable to the quality of the tools in use. The thin arm positioned without anything that comes loose and can ball off. There is one "thumb" nut below the magnifier that allows rotating the "glass" to any position. I have never seen anything that would be more of a joy to use than the QuadHands system.And, by the way, a calling card came with the magnifier, so I called and left message about a problem. QuadHands immediately sent a replacement and more that I didn't even ask for. Never met better.

Overall this was a solid tool, the magnetic base is solid, the light is bright, and the lens is clear, however -- in my case the lens came scratched on one side. Its not enough for me to return it to add to the worlds waste problem -- but it is enough to be annoying. A plastic wrap could have stopped the scratch before it happened in shipping

Great addition to my quadhands, magnet is very strong and I love that the light can be moved wherever you need it It takes watch batteries, I keep leaving the light on by mistake so if you are like me I would buy extra. I love the products this company makes and that it is local to me somewhat. If you don't have the quadhands you are missing out, my techs love them. I just upgraded to the magnetic feet and it works excellent.I do allot of wiring on tiny parts and cables and this makes my life so much easier. I have shaky hands so without it I would be a disaster. The light is perfect in my opinion,it is well placed in regards to the magnet.

Better than a hand magnifier or loupe, but not very bright and bad battery life.

Magnifier is nice and clear with useful LED light.Bought it with the Quad Hands helping hands unit. Recommended.
