Works good enough for the price
Better try and spray in all a day or two, after that it tends to clog up, had to dilute with water on day 3 to get it out the sprayer. All in all beats laying down 50 bags of mulch for sure

I love this product
I purchased the stain for the pebbles around our fire pit. I choose black. It’s very black and shiny which I love. Pebbles usually look best when wet and now I have that look! Easy application, drys quickly in the sun.Plus the cats can’t dig and squat.

Color
I tried Envirocolor pine straw treatment with very good color results. Thought I would try Colorback mulch in brown color to see how it compared to Envirocolor brown. Colorback is very brown, like dark chocolate. Dries somewhat lighter. The issue is that Envirocolor is much too dark for pine straw is your are looking for that new pine straw color. It doesn't say ok to use on pine straw on the label but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm sure it is ok for bark or wood mulch but not so for pine straw. Wish the company made a product for pine straw with more medium tones of red and brown. Also, I had to use a medium mesh paint strainer because the product contains tiny fragments that clog the pump sprayer. Worked great with no clogging. Manufacturer should filter out the fragments , not consumers.

Cost Effective
Wow! This saved us alot of money and manual labor of not having to re-mulch, since we had already mulched early spring. I’ll be honest, I was skeptical, but as you can see in the pictures it looks like we just laid fresh mulch down. This was quick and easy to apply and coverage per 2 gallon mixture was about 200sqft

Really spruces up the flower bed!
I am very pleased with this product. I have a large wooded area behind my house and about the first 20 feet of it are like one big flowerbed—way too much to mulch. I mulched all along the edge about 2-3 back and then I used this colorant to color the SOIL so that the unmulched area of light-colored soil no longer looks so starkly different from the mulched area. The first of my photos shows before I used the colorant, and the second photo is after. Of course, colored soil does not look exactly the same as colored mulch—but I think the color is far more uniform than it was before I used the colorant. The third photo is a flower bed in my front yard where I just dug out some old bushes and planted several new plants and used some fresh mulch in part of the flower bed. I used the colorant to color the old mulch to match the new. So It all looks pretty uniform now.Next time I will use laytex (or some other water proof) gloves that I use for painting to keep the colorant off my hands. (But it did wash off my hands pretty well). I got it on myself as I tried to clear the clogged sprayer nozzle. The colorant is fairly thick and clogs the sprayer nozzle. I am going to need to find a different sprayer approach for that. But I still like this product and will continue to use it. I do wish it was less expensive. Also, as I used it, I found my self wishing the seller made it in green because I would like to spray some parts of my grass!I do recommend this product.

It works!
I was extremely skeptical and bought it anyway. It was so easy to apply. You have to be careful not to get it on concrete. This was a great idea to extend the life of the mulch. We over mulched last time, and to refresh it with darker looking mulch would’ve been too much mulch. This will extend the life of the existing mulch until next time.

Great product tricky to use
I garden for a living and I find that customers with natural brown mulch don't love how it fades over time. There isn't a brown dyed product available in bulk and natural mulches only have soil mixed in for coloring. I've been excited to try this product for a while. It looks great when applied and hasn't run in the rain. I would say it doesn't go as far as the package claims but that's fine.Once it's opened it gets thicker and thicker and the package says you have 5 days to use it. I bought a deck sprayer with a wider hose and used the largest fan nozzle based on other reviews here. It does tend to gum up the sprayer though. I would recommend having a bucket of soapy water on hand and the tools to disassemble your sprayer to keep cleaning it out handy. With all the unclogging it is a slow process. If you have to open the sprayer under pressure to unclog it it can be very messy. I would recommend having your whole area prepped and then just working start to finish to get it done before it thickens. It does clean up well with water immediately if you have a spill. In brown it does give the look you've always dreamed of So I think it's worth it. Personally, I would use this and recommend it for brown dye but would rather just top up red or black mulch with a thin layer to get a fresh look. You can see in the picture the stop line on last year's natural mulch. The homeowner was thrilled with the result. I will very likely use this product in the future.
